How often do you weigh in?

I've been trying to only weigh myself weekly, although sometimes I get so excited to see results that I will weigh in 2 or 3 times a week. For Christmas I got a Wii Fit and it wants me to weigh in daily. I find that to be so pointless! The most I can lose in a single day is half a pound or so, so it doesn't seem like I'm getting anywhere at that rate. Then if I gain an ounce it wants me to choose a reason, but the only reasons available are things like overate, snacked, ate too late. I didn't do any of those things, my weight just fluctuated a pound.. so sue me!! If I go a day or two without playing the game it will scold me for not signing in, and tell me I need to aim for playing the game everyday, even though it does nothing but depress and upset me!! Aggravating! I'm going back to weighing in weekly! How often do you do it?

Personally, I think it is better to weigh in once a week. Doing it on a daily basis could prove harmful to your morale, because your weight will constantly fluctuate day by day. Weighing in once a week is such a better method and will help boost morale and help keep you on a persistant path, rather than checking weight every day and subconsciously feeling like the diet plan is agravating and upsetting and your more likely to quit.

I only like to weigh myself once a week really because our weight fluctuates daily up and down and it can be to depressing doing it everyday. I mean if you have to much water or are bloating that day..no reason to get scolded for it..once a week is usually best.

I do weight watchers and it is once a week. although i haven't made it to the last 2 meetings so i haven't weighed in for a bit. i have the wii fit too. you don't have to weigh yourself in daily, just go do the exercise. that's what i do. i just wants you to work out every day. so i do the body test once a week and just go straight to the training the other days.

I don't even do the training anymore, it's so boring! I do an hour and half at the gym every morning, what do I need those excersizes for?

Thats true. we can't afford a gym and i don't have time to go to one anyway. so the wii fit works for me. I am a little bored with the game that came with it, but i think if i had some more games for it i would be ok.

Do you have a YMCA near you? They do subsidized membership rates, and have free child care during specific hours. That's how I do it! The kids really love going.

I don't have a scale in the house, so not very often at all. I suppose having one might be a good thing for me though. It might motivate me to loose some of my excess baggage. I have though about a Y membership since I can put Lily in the daycare while I am there.

I LOVE the Y, so do the kids! It was a great investment.

I thought it pointless to weigh in everyday, but fun to play the games. I haven't gotten a chance to use the wii fit, or when I did I wasn't playing on the wii fit, but other games. In any case, I think they want you to weigh in everyday because of the fluctuations, I guess they give you tips, Eventually they'll tell you, if they haven't already, to weigh in at the same time every day if you can. Yea, I love how it says "Did you know it's been _ days since your last visit?... I'm thinking "mhm sure do"... In any case, I want to get different fitness games, maybe the wii fit plus, but other then that stuff like Jillian Michaels or the new "your shape" game with the web cam type thing that tells you just what the problem areas are.

Hey kats! I am so damn jealous! I want a Wii Fit too and some games too! I never thought I would be interested in that stuff until I keep hearing everyone on here talking about it! Now I really want one too! I want to start with the Wii Fit! I am thinking of telling my boyfriend about it because he promised he would get me something for my birthday (belated) when he gets his tax money! He probably would like it too if I get myself into better shape because he started his workout yesterday! And he wants us to get a "Park Pass" this summer so that we can go swimming together! I'm thinking of mentioning it to him tonight when he gets home from work!

I'm no longer all that impressed with my Wii Fit.. for me it's better and easier to just do some real exercizes, and go to the gym every morning.

I don't think I would like a Wii Fit. Weight fluctuates normally, so a half pound loss or gain doesn't mean much unless it's very consistent. If you drink more water, eat soup instead of dry foods, eat more salty snacks, etc., it can cause a weight "gain." I weigh myself whenever I think of it, but usually not more than every other week.

That is why I don't like weighing myself daily. It makes me feel like I'm not doing enough, or that I'm not losing any weight at all, which can get depressing. When I only weigh myself weekly I lose around 5 lbs a week or so. That's much more motivating.

In all honesty, I haven't weighed myself in years. I don't even have a scale in the house. I think the last time I got weighed was during my last physical.

Exercising everyday is great IF you have the time. I have never played a wii and am very dissapointed to hear that a wii fit does all that negative things. That sounds really pointless and ridiculous to me for them to create a game that causes you to feel like a loser if you gain a pound or dont sign in everyday to play. That is def. something I will not be buying. I have enough self esteem problems as it is. I dont own a scale and havent in a few years. When I did have a scale I weighed myself everyday at the same time each morning. Now when I want to weigh myself I do it once in awhile when I'm at my moms house because they do have a scale. I actually just earned enough reward points with homescan to get myself a scale for free. I just have to wiat about 8 weeks for it to arrive. Its no big deal I've been without a scale for this long so might as well wait a little longer.

Dawn is bad. Dawn hasn't gone near the scale in months. Dawn doesn't want to know. Maybe I should start a discussion about people who talk about themselves in the third person.

I normally weigh in about once a week. If i am working hard though and really noticing changes, i may weight myself 2 a week, but no more than that. I get really depressed if I see my weight go up everyday...but if you only weigh yourself once or twice a week, then you dont see all the little changes

I rarely, if ever weigh in. Its just something that cause more stress. Either I gain weight despite my best efforts or I lose little to no weight. I just try and keep active, without second guessing with what I'm doing by checking my weight. I find that causes me a lot less stress.

I do work out in gym in 3-4 days in week. When ever I enter in gym for it, I do weight my body.

Hi katsmeow1213, I have a weighing machine at home but I try not to weigh myself anymore lolz. It can be kinda scary, you know? For me at least, I don't need a weighing scale to tell me whether I am fat or fit. Just look at the mirror everyday and you can sort of tell.

I don't weigh myself anymore because I get mad and frusterated over not even losing a pound.I've tried many different ways to lose weight and I don't lose anything.I give up.

Hi, I don't currently own a scale so I haven't weighed myself in quite sometime. I know I have to lose weight and I've been trying for a long time but I haven't had any success, I'm average in weight but I'd like to lose some around the middle and my back somewhat, it's so hard though. I know it's just because lack of exercise and what not and bad eating that I gained weight in the first place. If I had a scale, I'd probably weight myself once or twice a week to see if I had made any progress, I wouldn't weight myself everyday because I would feel stressed out if I didn't see any progress and I feel as if everyday is way too much.

When I gained a lot of weight I would weight me every week to check that I wasn't getting fatter. Once I got back to my normal weight I stopped caring, as now I rarely vary more than half a kilo. Sometimes if my boyfriend weights himself I weight myself too just for fun.

Hi katsmeow1213, I used to do this to keep warn to lose weight, but when cold season comes I can't help eating too much, this announces the fail in losing weight. I expect the coming spring I have more time to do exercise and less stomach to pack food.

I seldom weigh in because I know I didnt make any difference lately. And I might end up disappointed if I gained weight. My current weight is 129 lbs. and I want to reach 120 lbs. The first thing I noticed when I lose weight is my face, my cheeks will get smaller everytime I lose weight.
