Have you seen or heard of the MTV show the Jersey Shore? it is about a group of young Italian Americans going to the Jersey shore to work during the summer. The guys are all tan a bluffed and have gel in their hair. And the women wear very revealing clothes.I ask this under Life because I just heard that many Italian Americans are upset because they think Non Italians are going to think all Italian Americans are like this.I must confess this thought never entered my mind. i just looked at the show as a slice of the Italian American pie. No one group can be fully described in a show or movie or even a book.question. are you Italian American? Are you upset about Jersey Shore? And if you aren't Italian American,do you get upset when others get upset about being stereotyped?

If I were an Italian American, I would probably be gunning for the blood of whomever thought this absolute trainw reck of a programme was a good idea. The people portrayed in the show are the most unlikable, self-obssessed idiots I have ever seen Their over-the-top appearance and stuck-up attitude makes me want to put my foot through the screen, and I am not even Italian American

I hate this show. I am not Italian but I did grow up in Jersey and this show with it's Staten Island spoiled brats is a joke. The guys try to be Gumba's and they are so not. The girls think whining is cute and they act as though they are so tough all of them when in real life a North Jersey Italian would have their heads split open before the brats even knew their mouths had gotten them in trouble. No not all Jersey Italians are like the Gotti's but they sure as hell aren't like these morons. No not totally true there are a few... but there is always a few, no matter what it is. As for stereo types, I feel like there is no reason to get your dander up about what other people think. Unless in affects your work place, home life or kids who cares what other's say. Yeah I'm a proud Mick and I won't let what other's say make me feel as though I am wrong to be so.

I have heard of this show and from the little clips I have seen it is so stupid. I'm not an Italian American but I can understand how the Italian community would feel about being protrayed in such a manner. The bunch of them on the show don't have a brain between them. It is so unbelievable that a show like this would be allowed to be on the air. Is this what is left for entertaining us the consumer. Is this what we pay for to see. Its an insult to our intelligence and should be removed from TV period.
