I'll get straight to the point-I like food TOO much! When i watch tv and an ad comes on,i ignore them unless they are for food and shoes! I didn't even realise this until my hubby pointed it out.I made a comment like 'oh yum'..etc every time the same subway ad came on! Many other people would look great with my weight(at present,i'm not sure how much as i'm too scared to weigh myself but i'm at leat 75kgs)..i guess with my bodyshape,it really stands out that i'm too heavy. I know i sound like a whinger but starting today,i have been doing something about it. Diet shake for brekkie, half portion for lunch and loads of water all day.Every 2hrs i have been on my x-trainer for 20mins.For dinner,it's burritos and i can't deprive myself too much but i will cut down on the chicken and add more lettuce etc. I'm also cutting right down on the coffee because it's a real weakness of mine.i usually have 6 a day but have cut it down to 2. I plan on keeping this up as best i can but it would be great to have some extra support. Please share your ideas and strategies and maybe we can do it together.I will add my weight and do a progress thing soon. You know what, I've just read a Yahoo! article this morning about foods that will help you lose weight. I was a bit surprised by some of the foods mentioned, like full-fat cheese, milk, iced coffee, and meat. You would probably think that these foods will actually make you fatter, but then you can also notice that all of them (except for the iced coffee) contain protein. That is the bottomline of it all: eat a lot of protein especially at breakfast because you'll tend to eat less as the day goes on. :) About the iced coffee, you just have to break them down into smaller portions instead of gulping a single Grande in just one sitting. Anyway, some of my goals for this year is to read more books, blog more often (about 2-3 times a week), write more articles for the Web, totally avoid my frequent snacking, and do some vigorous activity, because just like you, I also wanna lose some weight. Hope we could fulfill all of our goals. :)

Thanks for your response:) I have heard of having protein at breakfast and that having breakfast instead of skipping the meal is the best thing to do because it starts off your metabolism. I think that's my major problem,i won't eat breakfast. To combat this,i am going to have a shake and add a scoop of extra protein powder to keep me fuller for longer.I am still just starting as it's my first day but i'm happy to say i didnt suffer any hunger pains.Chewing sugar free gum and drinking a fair bit of water helped deter the cravings too and i still have energy. I do expect that i will get headaches tomorrow though as i detoxed from coffee once before and the withdrawal headaches were awful:(

Protein powder? Wow. I've never heard of that before. Ah, I also have strong cravings, especially for sweets like chocolates and bread. That is something that I find hard to fight, because I tend to give in easily. I just can't resist chocolates! :D

I would LOVE to have my old body back .. working toward it all this year! I've had some troubles with this old body, so it's set me back, but I think if I'm smart and slow I can loose the 25 that I want by New Year's Eve!! I'm journaling under one of my discussions if anyone would care to find me and share encouragement and tips! I could NEVER pass up a good burrito!! I'm rooting for you! Bear

Haha, well the burrito was delicious but i stopped myself from going for seconds so i'm quite proud of that! The last couple of days,i havent been on my x-trainer but i havent been idle either.I did set myself back a bit by having some drinks with friends but it's only an occasional thing so that should be ok. I too have a body that hates me..not so much from age but old injuries, esp my spine so i have to be careful.I have been doing sit ups but while laying on my bed as i can't lay on a hard surface. We will get there.we just have to want it enough.
