Forgot the title of the film. Can you help me with this one?

I'm looking for the film identical to "The Nightmare Before Christmas".
It's also stop motion, , Avantgarde, Halloween themed and it's about a group of friends. All I can recall was the part where a boy was trying to cross a broken bridge; he has no choice but to step on the air; the bricks from the ground flew on every step of the boy and acted as a bridge as he crosses the two towers. Anyone has an idea? Wild guess? I've been looking for years. Your help is much appreciated.

There are two stop motion pictures it could be "James and the Giant Peach" and also "Coraline" but as "Coraline" is quite new it's probably not that. The bricks thing remind me a little of Labyrinth and also another movie from the 80's called "The Gate" which is a horror so that may be it.

No, it's not "James and the Giant Peach" it's a lot more darker. I know "Coraline" and can't wait for its release. I've checked out "The Gate" on Youtube. It has the same feel but not quite yet. Can't find the Labyrinth though. Thanks for the response! :)
