Wasabi Kitty

I am just posting this out of pure amazement. My 4 yr. old fat lazy kitty who has never shown interest in human food (other then ice cream) has not only stolen my bag of Wasabi soy sauce almonds but is eating them with much gusto! Her nose is running all over her face and she keeps sneezing and yet she will not stop. I took the bag away and left her 2 so she would stop hissing at me (so not her norm as she is overly affectionate usually). Does anyone else have a cat who eats strange things?

Oh my, will this be the new "catnip??" That is just too funny! When I was a child, I had a black and white mama cat named Fuzzy. She used to go into the garden several times a week and eat half a tomato or like a raccoon, part of an ear of sweet corn. I've not before a since had a cat that did that! Karen

Our old cat loved corn but he was a Garfield cat. The vet would tell us over and over again that tomatoes where not good for the cat but he loved pasta with red sauce, loved it. I don't think it was as harmful as they say though as he lived to be a month shy of 17.

we had a cat - Jool I think - who liked those wasabi peas - it was strange this little kitten attacking those spicy things - nearly freaked out the roomie when she attacked them.

and I'm glad to know it wasn't just Jool!! Timus is so fond of tomatoes he'll help himself to the roomie's salsa - granted its MILD salsa, but still!!!

My daughter has a cat that likes carrots. It is cute to watch her eat them too. The kitty rabbit looks and acts like Bugs. We may have to change his name if this keeps up. Animals are something aren't they? He sure gets into it and chews and chews. We should make a video or something.

Our dog loves carrots. It is the only human food he begs for.

I've had a few different cats that ate weird things. A couple of them loved garlic. Another would attack for the raspberry jelly filling in a jelly doughnut. Now I have one that likes cucumbers, coconut milk and Mandarin oranges. Not together but she smells any of them and cries until you give her a bite.

Does carboard count? Our chat Chinia will shread paper products such as carboard boxes, or lose paper. It becomes multi-colored snow. She loves it if we just happen to leave i things lying around. to where she could get them. If we had napkins on the coffee table that too became snow as well.

While our cats have never eated anything like that, they do tend to have their own favorites in the human food realm. They love sour cream, licking the cheese off any type of cheese coated potato chip, and chicken just to name a few. WE try and avoid giving them anything too spicy for fear of the yoweling and the mess I would prolly find in the litter box since we all know what too much of hot and spicy foods can do to us humans...

We did have a kitty who loved and I mean loved cool ranch Doritos. He would hear the bag and beg his little hearts out, and Heaven forbid you left the bag where he could get it!

I love those things, but thankfully my cats do not. I have Tiger who eats plastic, especially foam rubber, and Jason who eats curling ribbon. Mostly they just eat cat food though.
