I am an avid fan of the Food Network but am up to my ears in repeats..I am so tired of the same shows over and over and over..It was great at the beginning of the holidays as it was new stuff, although I must admit that a few shows were from years passed, but as least it was different. Right now, I'm watching a 30 minute meal episode that I have seen so many times I know what she is going to say next. I'm not kidding, I can recite the lines better than her~~ I'm hearing here and there on commercials that the new season of a few of the shows starts next week, but they ALL need to start next week..I have been watching this newtork for about 15 years and don't ever remember it being this bad. Do you watch this network,,and are you as tired of repeats as I am? Just curious..

I agree, the repeats get on my nerves after I've seen them so many times. I know that the "new food network star" just started her new show this week and it was very good. They have also had commercials for several new programs that will be starting. I have a few favorites like Paula, Sandra and Ina that I enjoy watching even if they have repeats because they are so entertaining. They also tend to cook the foods that I like or would like to try. Some of the chefs use spices that I wouldn't use or ingredients that I wouldn't buy. Let's hope some of the new shows get going so we have new episodes to watch.

Hi surfette I love the competition of the next food network star and hope it starts again in the next few months. Melissa D'Arabians show airs here on Sunday mornings and I have only seen it one time. I've been told however that the concept of feeding 4 people for 10 bucks works if you have a fully stocked pantry only. So the 10 bucks does not include spices and stuff, only the main ingredients. I like her though and am going to try to catch her show. She's a true home cook and I think she has alot to offer. Like you, I like Sandra and Ina..I think Ina is a super talented chef and I have learned lots from her. The only problem with her is that her recipes can be very costly. Paula to me is a little over rated. While I have liked many of her recipes that I made, I have disliked just as many. Her brother Bubba is a great chef and I just bought his cook book. The book is great and filled with stuff that I can't wait to try. He's better than his sister I think. I also LOVE Tyler Florence. I don't care what he's cooking, I just like watching him. Thats what I call a sexy man..Oh..what I wouldn't do....lol..yum yum!! The previewed shows do look good, I like the looks of The worst cook in America..looks like it will be very entertaining and funny..and I love the competitions, all of them. Hopefully we will be watching new stuff soon ,,like I said, I watch the network the better part of every day, while I work. What do you like to cook? Do you have a family that you cook for everyday? I graduated culinary school last May and am working on my own cook book and am doing some private cooking on large boats that dock in Ft Lauderdale. I get to go on trips and do all the cooking for the captain, crew and of course the owner and their guests. It a fun job but tuff to work in a very small space while moving..Its been interesting to say the least. Hope to talk with you again..Happy cooking and Happy New Year!! J
