I regretted growing up too fast.

Hello mylotters, I just needed to get it of thy chest. to be honest, i don't like shaving at all like almost three times a week, i feel like those people who are really grown. i am grown up but some how i felt that i got trapped by my own desparation, and that is to grow up so fast. Remember, when we were young and want to do things our own way, our parents would get mad at us for trying to be independent. i know some doesn't regret since they didn't took they're youth for granted. i know i didn't but some how i feel that i didn't spend my youth as wise as i thought it would be. yeah, having fun and play is good for a kid, hang out with friends and get the girls theory being teens is nice but some how, something went something that made me upset at my age. am sure i'll find it some day. as of now, i feel regret for growing up too fast. maybe i should have wisely spent time on worthly things

Hi Letran, Well, I hope you don't let this get you down for long. I don't regret growing up too fast at all. I could not wait to grow up and move on from my parents even tho they were decent people. I just really really wanted to be on my own. It was of course much more difficult than I'd anticipated but no regrets at all. I would not want to go back to being a kid wishing I were grown for anything in the world.

hello coolsudan, you got a point there, it does make sense with all of our mistakes giving us the reason to be a better person and not because of what we wanted but because something that god wanted better than what we desire. but sometimes, i think of those times that what could have been.

Well, depending on your situation, I guess you really do have to shave three times a week. In my case, I only shave on Mondays.. if I continue to shave most of the time, it'll just get thicker and thicker fast. You sound like you already had children instead of being in a very impressive career that you have always wanted.. Growing up too fast is a mind set. If you think like that, then you are. Since you seem to be feeling regret about something that you have done before, why not just settle the matter with something that you yourself know and which would ease your trouble?

Depression is part of everyone's life, even the rich and well off sometimes feel depressed due to things that does concern their lives. At any rate, it depends upon our own well being if we want to stay depressed or do something about it. In my case, I often go negative on such encouraging ideas (^_^ )

Right now I am in that youth stage where I feel like I am growing up too fast. I should be in college right now but I am working instead. I am soon going to be bumped up (by my request) to forty hours a week, excluding the weekends that I will work, and I plan on pet sitting on the side. I have a car payment to cover, now. I am nineteen.

hello valenas, that's good to know that you're working. am pretty sure that you will survive when the time comes that you will become real independent. and at least you have a car, i don't even know how to drive nor i have a car of my own. maybe i was just saying,"i should have live mylife a bit more" than the one i had already done.

I think many adults wish they could relive their childhood again. Sometimes I think the parents try to control the youth so the youth don't make the same mistakes they did when they were young. I too sometimes wish I could relive my childhood again so I could have spend the time more wisely.

I ran away from home at 13 and have been on my own since then so I grew up WAY too fast. But at 55 I am a good person due to this fact. If I had stayed at home with all the mental and physical abuse, I fear what I would have become. Odd, you're on my friends list for a long time, yet I am not getting notices of discussions you start etc. Hmmmm? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Hi...Letran It is quite natural the interference of the parents.I think this is because our parents are not so confident about us as we are. But you are still a youth and you have time to hang up and do whatever you feel right.

hello mdvarghese, i know but some times you had to have that feeling of getting pissed and frustrated because you get to be told at a certain age. it's not that am complaining about their lectures, i guess it's one of those sad moments that really needs less attention. probably some day il have time to hang out.

I am sure others do feel same as you. There are times in our life that we never wished at all. But, it part of any one's life about growing old either too fast. Sometimes, these effects had been the product of family set up and environment. You are right that spending time wisely and worth things can help you overcome that regret feeling in yourself. Instead, it open doors for you to see the other side of growing too fast. From the, you can compare and see clearly what will you want for your life the next stage when it happens. It is better enjoying that feeling bitter or sorry for the situation. Look what lies ahead of you and the positive it brings. Anyway, it is a one way ticket only meaning you will past that stage one. Just be prepared. At least not much regrets.

Time moves way too fast. Such is life but it can be a bit jarring. Well more than a bit jarring, it can be something that is really frustrating to deal with at times. There are many good things with being an adult. However, there are times where I long for the sympathy of being a child. Those were much funner times. I had very few worries. These days, there seems to be so much going on and keeping track of that it can be a bit overwhelming. When I add to the few regrets I have, it can be even more frustrating to realize that I am the age that I am.

hello megamatt, most of the time I WANTED to be the age of what am i supposed to be. but unfortunately it's not what i always wanted, probably didn't work hard enough to earn it. well, as of now i am contented of what i have and at least what I have become. probably i should just moved on and keep growing but feel young at the same time.

Haha I feel like I haven't been growing up fast enough! I guess college life prolongs youth. Not that I feel immature exactly, just that I don't always act my age :)

hi! well let me tell you that.. do things that makes you happy so u would regret.. life is too short and u must enjoy the things.. and never regret the things you done because it is your choice to do it.. no one lets you choose to what to do,. its your life.. and go on and be happy always without regrets at all

hello angela, thank so much for that advice. i guess regret things only consumes and waste time that should have been focus on what you do "next" and moving forward. probably i haven't been choosy in what i want maybe i should think more of what to do to earn what i really want in life. thanks again.

The saying goes you are as young as you feel you are in spirit. As a joke, my best friend allways says: yeah, and I feel like an 80-year-old. It does cover the load, and especially for this subject, as people can feel grown up faster then they perhaps should. Being young and being able to play and be care free (or so I hope peoples youth and childhood have been) is something that doesn't come back. On the other hand, being able to get an education you love, having a family and a fullfilling job are things you can't have as a a young child and which are very nice aswell. Every fase in your life has stuff to like and dislike.

I do feel like I grew up too fast too. I have a bittersweet memory of my childhood days but mostly things were very pleasant for me. I don't want to go back in time, but I want to be able to see back on video form or something those flashback memories. Too bad it can't be done of course, lol..

i can understand your feeling and think that growing up too fast and start to become a adults and have responsiblity for our behaviour and thought, maybe we have too much time to waste and done unworthy things, because we are too young to understand life's meaning.but the time could not wait for everybody.because of growing up.we should think about our future and adhere to realize our aim.

i bet you're not alone who regret growing up fast. however, you can never turn back time. just enjoy your present life and do things people do your age but don't be afraid to go beyond your age sometimes. it's fun. focus on the brighter side and remember that it's fine to have fun like a kid sometimes. today is more important than yesterday. cheer up!

i dont think it would be wise to think over the past and feel bad it only makes our present painful coz you couldnt enjoy your teenage well.so what--enjoy yourselves now---i dont think you would go for the hanging out with girls or some fantasies but try to get involved in with teens so you dont feel the emptiness in your teenage life and what matters the most is whether you are happy now or not so make the most of today rather being lost in the past---neither the past or Future can change if this is not for you atleast for me Letran.great day.

well, maybe if you would have been just a bit of yourself and rather not the person the others wanted you to be then you wouldn't be whining about the past. remember, must focus on life one day at a time..
