What nervous habits do you have? Or your friends?

I used to chew on pencil erasers. But that tasted bad. Then I switched to pens, till one busted in my mouth. I can't go to sleep unless I've got some of my hair between my fingers. I like rubbing it, like a smooth stone one uses. It's soothing, and you can't lose it in bed! What's your nervous habit? Or just soothing habit? We all have them, let's have it!

Wow, you are the first I hear about chewing on erasers. I smoke, what can I say... That makes me calm down a whole lot. I guess that's the only habit I have.

I did it as a kid. You know, we had to use pencils, no pens. I would get so bored in class, nothing to do. Couldn't daydream, or then teach would pick you to ask a question of. Somehow they always knew who was daydreaming, the evil telepaths.

Ever since i was a little girl I have always played with my hair. When I'm tired or nervous or bored I find it soothing, my hair slowly slipping and curling between my fingers.

Me too. It's so much better than chewing on fingernails, easier on the hands. But it is kinda hard on the hair. I would probably go nuts if I lost all my hair! Nothing to rub!!

hi snowcat 46 I still do it and when I catch myself I really try to stop, but when deep into something or trying to write something I will chew on a lock of hair. revolting I know but its a habit I have been working on for ages. my hubby used to tease me a nd say does it taste good? then I wou ld stop for awhile. Oh thats really soothing, I do that too, rub my hair ' between my fingers as its glossy and its calms me down. I wear my hair long and am really trying to quit chewing on it as its stupid and looks awful.

I very briefly chewed on my fingernails. I bought this horrid stuff just for that. You put it on like polish, but if you nibble the nail, it's this horrible awful taste that you can't get rid of. Worked like a charm! A disgusting, foul tasting charm... Could there be something you could try in your hair? Vinegar? It won't hurt the hair at all, but it doesn't taste good.

My nervous habit is I get nervous when I have a job interview, and I tend not to directly look at the interviewer when they talk.I think that may be why I don't get hired.I have a habit of putting my fingers in my mouth.I fiddle with my hands when I feel nervous.

I fiddle with my hands too. That's why I tend to clasp them. If they're hanging onto each other, they can't fiddle! Try going into the job interview without thinking of it as one. Think of all the ways you can benefit that company, and just tell them all those ways. Think of that interviewer as a stubborn friend and you're trying to convince them how to do something.
