Become part of this discussion and tell me your opion on if you think the drinking age should stay 21 or they should change it to 18? I know this topic is going to be extremely touchy. And there are alot of people in the world with their seperate opion about this topic. But I was just wondering what people opion is.

I am not sure if this would make a difference because at 18 these are fairly big adults. What I think that they should do instead is continue with the drink and dont drive campaign. The fact of the matter is that at both age groups you have people who drink an drive

HI! In my country the drinking age is 18. But I think 21 is better for me, because as I see now more and more young people 14 -15 years old get drunk every day, and it is terrible!

I think it isn't necessary... The doctors says that drinking age is 18 because of human body development. If it's bad for human development and because of this peoples under 18 years old can't drink whay to cahnge this for 21 years old if the human body development ends at 18 years old????

21 is pretty good for drinking age. If it was raised i would say 25 because thats the age i think your allowed to rent a car.

i honestly don't know what the difference will be. Long time ago it used to be 18 and it was raised. Although they raise it it doesn't prevent teens from drinking anyway, it just makes it more assessable. I do think it's fine the way it is and lowering it wouldn't make much of a difference.

I guess that is not a good idea because they mostly are still student at the age of 18 and at that age most of people encounter mental problem like stress, therefore some of people might thought that drink can only the way to avoid stress without think the another way. Drinking can cause harm to body especially liver. The person that start to drink at age 21 has longer life than the person that start at age 18 in terms of health I suppose.

I think this is a terrible idea. The kids at 18 years are stil for the most part inmature and will be getting into more trouble being allowed to drink. They will think they are invincable and drink and drive which will cause accidents and deaths. I think 21 is a good age to be allowed to drink and it should stay at that age.

i thinking it should be increased to 25 as...at 21..also there r many irresponsible drinking habits they fight and brawl..and drive while drunk...so if its reduced to 18 the no of ppl indulging in irresponsible drinking will increase...hence creating lozz of more trouble ...as we r already having lozz...of irresponsible drinking behaviour

There are problem drinkers whether the legal age is 21 (as in the US) or 18 (as in the UK). I do think there are far too many kids drinking with their parents. I would never even consider drinking until I was at least 17 (way back in the 1980s) but that was in a pub with my mates, never at home. Why there has been a shift in this area I do not know but it does need to be researched as to how widespread it is and in what kind of areas. I have a strong feeling that this is not limited to the poorest in society. Another culture shift has been more youngsters drinking loads even before they go out. I cannot find the attraction in this. The whole point of getting drunk whilst you are out is to have a good laugh as you are doing it. This business about getting bladdered in the home beforehand means that young people have more chance of becoming involved in fights as they have been drinking too many hours and can't handle it. I also have mixed feelings about 24 hour drinking as well. At first I agreed with it but now I'm not too sure.

This one is real simple. The should lower the drinking age or raise the age of legal adulthood, one or the other. By the way it's not 21 in every state in the U.S. either. Massachusettes and Oregon along I believe 5 other states still have the legal drinking age at 18. At any rate, When a person turns 18, they can smoke, they can vote, they can potentially be drafted to war and die for their country, yet they can't legally drink. I am the first one to say that just because someone turns 18 and becomes a legal adult doesn't make them a real adult. So like I said I think they need to change the law, but how they change is really the question.

Hello, in my country drinking age is 18. I think it is ok. I think people start to drink already earlier and why not to make legal 18 then? I think I started to drink at 16. and if there are so many people starting to drink at earlier ages then waiting till 21 is too long to wait and it could lead to illegal drinking, illegal parties etc. It all could become more uncontrolled and that is worth i think that something that you could control.

I think that in different countries around the world the drinking age is lower. it just depends I suppose. In any case, for the USA I would say NO keep it at 21. at 18, a person hasn't driven for long and doesn't have the experience necessary or maybe even maturity to know not to drink and drive. I'd think that it'd be much better to raise the drinking age then to lower it, but that is not for this topic.

I am 37 years old. Back in my wild and wolly days I used to drink. The drinking age was 18. I remember how we would cut up drinking and all. I gave up drinking along time ago, but if people are going to drink it should stay at 21. Because they younger you are the crazier you are for doing crazy things while you are drunk and all.
