I was having a discussion with a co-worker on religion and the difference and I don't know but do Jehovah Witness's believe Jesus was the Messiah? I know that Jews do not and Christians do. But unsure of the stand of Jehovah Witness

Hi cmhjjh. I'm certainly not a JW but I am sure they believe that Jesus is the Messiah. Though the JWs are way off track on many Biblical points, they do realize that Christ means Messiah. However, they view Jesus Christ not as God, but "a god." If one studies with them (but please don't do that folks) you'll find they teach the Archangel Michael is Christ. Getting back to the "a god" thing, that cannot be. It is ironic that have used Isaiah 43:10-11 as their theme verse, but then turn around and state Yahweh is God and Jesus "a god." The chapters of Isaiah 41 to 46 are crystal clear there is only one God who is the only Creator and only Savior. Verses throughout the Holy Bible, and specifically in the NT, show us that God subsists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Thank you, I am a Christian and I knew the JW was not good but didn't know excalty why. Some of the things online were saying the were Christian and believed in only one God. And that was confusing to me this helps me though in understanding more of the deaper beliefs and why I knew they were off. I know they don't celebrate holidays so I wasn't sure if they just didn't believe they weren't true or what. I do believe in one God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Thank You

You're so right Pastor, because I started to study with them and that's what they do teach.I know He's not Michael.

I did studies with the JWs,but I did learn they think Michael the Archangel is Jesus, but it's not in the Bible.I didn't become one of them because I disagree with their beliefs.I even quit having a study with them.I'm not religious but I go by the full teachings of the Bible.I go by what Jesus taught. They do believe He is the Messiah, but also He's Michael.I know the Jews do not even believe He was here the first time,so they aren't expexcting His second coming. They are still waiting for His first arrival.

That makes more sense to me they believe he is the Messiah they just don't believe the baby born to Mary was Jesus. They still are waiting for that.
