why do people lie so much?

i haven't found a good reason for anyone to lie to someone, yet everyone seems to do it. i'm lookin for i guess excuses or if you agree with my thought that there really is no good reason to lie.

Well that's trickey I really don't want to be lied to but find that sometimes people lie because it's better then hearing the truth.
