hi there people, today we have a lot of problems in our planet, global warming, greenhouse effect ozono hole and also trash. we have to recicle things and so we will have lesser junk aroud us. i recicle metal, paper, plastic, glass and also organic things. i Use organic things to make compost in my garden. And what about you? do you recicle something? do you give your trash to some society or you recicle things on your own? thank you for your responses :)

Yes. I do it all the time. Our used water except toilet water is channelised to the trees. The wet garbage is converted to compost. The dry leaves are incinerated and the ash thus procured is used as manure. The solid waste such plastic bags, broken glass etc is used as filler material for light weight foundations such as garden seats, etc.

Those garden seats they make from the recycled plastic are so cool! It annoys me when the stores are forced to restrict usage of the bags, because I reuse mine over and over. There are so many things that can be done with them. The guy who started Cal Earth even used them to make beautiful ceramic houses.

I am much more into reusing than recycling, because I think that sometimes recycling can be wasteful. Sometimes it takes more energy to recycle something than is saved, but when we reuse something everyone benefits. An example is that this year instead of buying new calendars, I went into a box in the garage where I store old calendars and I found one from 1982 where all the days of each month line up the same as 2010. Some people put their old calendars in the recycling bin. I just save mine to use over again when the date rolls around. Similarly, when I buy food in a container I often look for attractive containers that can be used over and over. Glass is my favorite. I have made paper, too, by shredding my junk mail and soaking it and making it over again. A lot of things can be composted, too.

I recycle a lot of things. "Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without" is my motto. I use empty plastics for containers or watering implements and I'm still using newspaper instead of paper towels for soaking up grease drippings and cleaning my windows. That's just a couple things I do. My main focus is to save money. Although I don't want to pollute and will do a lot to avoid it, saving money is my main focus.

We compost all we can for the garden and now we have the chickens so even meat can be recycled. We have limited trash pick up so have to make special trips to recycle paper, plastic and metal.
