is ragging a right thing?

ragging a junior is just to have interaction with a new one who is going to join us...as what i feel...to guide,to suggest,to know,to enjoy,to have mental support,...and most of this things will happen in our under graduation...and this relation can be between any one a boy, a girl or else any one...but this is being banned because of the ragging limits being crossed violating all the rules hurting others in all ways...and i fell we miss some thing because of that..and i wanted to know if some one is having any other opinion about this... good or bad

i thought that ragging is one of the best way that to indroduce our self and get interact with the juniours...
but every thing should be in a limit.if we cross the limit it will become a horrible thing for us..but when i went to the college first time i am so feared about raging.but my seniours are well knowledged persons ..they also ragged me ,but it is on the limit and i have got a very good relationship to them.now, i am a pre-final student . i have also been ragged a boy but it is on the limit but now we are very close together..we have been went to the out of our city ride..thus i don't know anything before he went to the college and i have never seen him before....
but now i hope that he will be the best student in our college.i have got many contacts by him....

i have same experiences of most of what you had so the reason for why i say it is good.....and thanks for sharing your opinion on it..this is only for knowing is ragging an offence or crime as many colleges have bought that as act of crime with anti ragging squad in many colleges and being strictly prohibited...it may also effect the student interaction / proper relation between them.
