Have you encountered mean people in Mylot?

Yeah, I got some experience with such persons. I still remember a guy, who posted a question here. It seems that he was expecting that everyone will agree with him, but when I expressed my own opinion, he started to attack me and accuse me of being wrong and stuff. I just made it clear to him, that this was my opinion, so I don't care how he is going to deal with it. PS: I didn't say anything negative to him, my post contained no insults or stuff, but he just didn't like my thoughts. Some just can't grow up in time.

I have not had any unpleasant experiences here so far, nor have I come across anyone mean and nasty.I am sure there are bound to be personality clashes in such a site as this,but that would happen pretty much anywhere in the world. I am happy with the site and have found it a lovely place to interact and make friends - all the best and happy mylotting

I have on occasion stumbled upon a few not so nice people on Mylot, but my experiences with the site and the people who use it is positive. If you do meet any negative members avoid them and put it down to experience.

of course their are members who are very proud who would not accept a friend request as she think she/he is the better among the rest and have a high standard. Their are also racist, jealous, and those who flock other discussion just to give negative rating. So you could see other member are very active and yet their reputation is lower because of the politic here not the true politics but people who like to make other people down. So the saying is true as you cannot please everybody as their are snob, jealous and crooked minded people so be ready even in offline and online their are plenty.lol...

hi cutie,i get to spend little time in here so all i'm concerned is about my interaction with my friends that might be at their discussions or mine---most of the time i get lost in those huge follow up of the comments so i get much little time to respond in other discussions.till now i never came accross who is so mean---if at all i had him/her in my list i would love to free them so i dont have to come accross anymore.great day.

There are mean people everywhere in life. you can not get away from them anywhere. Some people are just miserable so they spend their time trying to make others miserable too. Sad but true.

I have been a member here for the past 4 years .Initially I was not too active but nowadays I am fairly regular though not terribly active.I have not seen any one mean .I have met only good people here and if I see some rude discussions or slightly unpleasant way of words then I just stay away from such discussions.My personal interaction has been excellent and I have very good friends here who would never be rude .I am extremely happy with thsi forum and to mylot.

Hi Cutie, I've been here for a long time and most of the members are real nice and especially if you are respectful and kind towards them. I have encountered a few here and there that are very disrespectful and mean spirited but you will come across that anywhere. There are so many members here that it is pretty easy to make a mental note of who they are and just avoid them. I will say that if someone is rude or mean to another member and it is unjustified that we all seem to band together and put that person in his/her place. If a former member had a bad experience here I would say that either they let one or two bad ones drive them off or that perhaps there may be more to the story and that they possibly brought on their own troubles. Most of us here are not very tolerant of rude and disruptive behavior. I hope your experience here is better than those that you have been listening to. I personally, think it's a great place.

There is simply no way you can avoid having mean people on a site like this. I haven't encountered any yet, but I am pretty confident they are out there. But mean is all relative to how you describe it. We are all different people and we all perceive things differently, you know...? If you see a negative person, don't let their attitudes hinder you because that is their goal. Simply just get up and move on, because at the end of the day, it's only the internet.

As far as I've seen - I've run into all very kind people... sometimes too kind maybe! I'm sure a few have seen me as being "mean" from time to time... but its those questions where they're like "I'm married but I'm so in love with this girl from work... we've secretly went out a time or two and i just can't live without her... what should I do?" Those are the ones I get a little smart with like "um... hello dumb dumb! You're MARRIED! Be a man and call it off with that chick!" kind of thing. I don't give it too easy. lol But other than me being me... everyone is real nice! I've really come to enjoy this site quite a bit!

There are good and bad people on the internet.I noticed on alot of different sites there are people who like to leave mean comments.You tube,they love to go and comment meanly there.I have to say some discussions people here have left me a mean comment.Not everybody does that,but once in awhile.Sometimes people think one is mean just because they don't agree.I think it's ok to disagree ,but not in a mean way.

For as many sites such as this there will always be some member or a few members that will be mean or also pick fights with the other members. It has happened hear and yes it is true. There have mainly be reasons for people being mean because of the differences of opinions on this site and sometimes things that people say, others may just pick on them and be mean all because they don't agree with what they have said. I have had a few people be mean to me, just because of what my opinion was on abortion. Its kind of hard to do away with people being mean, but I wish that people would just see just as they do, we all have an opinion and we have a right to voice what we feel, just as others do and them themselves.

Haven't seen any one here. I know that some members do have contradicting point of view over the topic but many have responding it in a civilized manner. I guess the rules are strict here and mean responses got deleted.

Thankfully I have not encountered such people. I would be foolish enough to think that they do not exist. With a huge website, there are always some people who might not be as pleasant. I have not had any experience that I recall right now. I suppose that can be considered a good thing. However, I am fairly new, so I guess was not at the wrong place at the wrong time as of yet.

hi! first off, congratulations on reaching 100 posts and getting a brand new star! i can see your avatar looks overly excited about it. mylot population is nearing 200,000. we are bound to encounter all sorts of personalities in here and sometimes clash. understandably because we all come from different cultures, environments, age groups and professions. i may have read harsh remarks in some discussions and sometimes heated arguments... fortunately, i haven't experienced it first hand. often, there were misinterpretations in discussions. differing opinions sometimes could not arrive at a compromise and just agree to disagree. just like one of the suggestions above, try to avoid discussions that may just put you in trouble or will let you meet mean people. controversial topics, if you don't have a heart or stomach for arguments, should just be avoided. i, for one would like to enjoy discussions... and not to cause me further stress. hehe

hello cutie, as we are speaking i can see that you are on your 95th post, five more to go and you are going to receive your badge already (star) goodluck. when i was still new to this site there is one member who is mean.... though i dont see that member anymore. maybe his account got deleted har har har. there are also members that i see but never encountered them. i just read there responses and comments to other members. they are touchy that they want to insist their own thinking to other people. to each its own we all have our own perceptions and all we need it to respect other opinion. this is a discussion site but that does not mean that there is right and there is wrong.

There's a saying that you should never discuss religion and politics (except perhaps with those who share the same viewpoint as you), and boy, is it ever true here. Like a previous poster mentioned, you'll be fine as long as you avoid the politics and religion discussions, or comment with people you agree with if you go there. I'll confess--I'm guilty of flying way off the handle when it comes to both of those topics. I have yet to learn how to calmly discuss why I disagree with what someone else says, and that's all on me, not on anyone else.

LoL I suppose I can sometimes come across as mean. I dont mean any harm, i mean i am not intentionally mean. I get very passionate sometimes. So if I ever come across as mean feel free to tell me cool off or smack me or something. I cant help but be opinionated so and so ya know! Cheers and happy mylotting!

I have seen some kind mean comments but mylot is just like the real world. There are nice folks and mean ones! And I do think that since we are fairly safe saying whatever we want here, some folks can go abit too far and are just plain offensive but they mean to be so that's their issue. I just ignore those kind of people just like I do in the "real" world.

Is there mean people here? So far i havent encounter anyone yet and I hope that I wont encounter any mean people here. I guess they are not nasty but just people who are straight forward when it comes to communicating, I really dont know for I havent got a experience about it. If ever then I will just dont mind.... I dont like any confrontation or feud. I just like to have fun and learn at the same time.
