Antivirus is one of the programs that users need when using a computer, specially when they got internet. I have been searching antivirus but not everyone works well and some of them slow down your computer, like Avast, for me. So can someone tell me where i can find an Antivirus that works and no virus in it.

Microsoft Security Essentials is free to Windows users (XP, Vista, 7), rated high, and uses little of your computer resources. I've used Norton and McAfee, but they were resource hoggers and would bog my computer down to a crawl. GRRR! I downloaded MSE, and I hardly know it's running in the background. I give it 2 thumbs up!

I totally agree with you Microsoft Security Essentials rocks, i have been using it for like seven months now and it has never disappointed me. You can scan and at the same time working on your computer. Remember to always update it and do scanning on a daily basis. You need not to look any further

Just to add something, it has been found out that Avira uses the least memory, lesser than avast and avg. SO you can expect that it won't lag your system. It has been a good antivirus for me and has detected malwares. I keep downloading tunes in limewire and I always scan my music folders and it hasn't failed me. Anyway, download it in download.com

I always trusted Ewido Antivirus, which is free and you can get it online. It has never given me any problems. Of course, when you run the anti-virus (which I do weekly), you can't really use your computer at the same time, and it takes about half an hour and only slows down your computer while you run the scan. Otherwise I haven't encountered any issues with it!

I have been using Avast, but now I decided to sue Microsoft Security Essentials, which is an antivirus spyware together. Since I just downloaded and installed it last night, I haven't had it on here long enough to reall see how good it is. My daughter told me she has it, and she likes it as she has been using if for awhile now. Funny thing is, I never knew it even existed until I saw a post in here about it, and that is what made me decide to give it a try. I an hoping it will do what it should do, as the bad thing with Avast was, it kept saying I had viruses when I didn't and that got annoying. I would constantly scan to see if it was true, and it wasn't which is a good thing. I just need to have something on here so I will just have to wait and see how the antivirus does. Take care, and happy mylotting.

AVG without a doubt. I've been using it for approximately 5 years now and it has never once failed me(yet). I highly recommend it. A tip of advice would be to scan your computer at least once a week.

I reccomend AVG to you, the free version of it is a great anti virus. It doesn't hog all of your system resources like the others do, which seems to be your problem :) The interface is nice, and easy to use, best of all it is free. Hope I have helped! Lee.

this is a very good question. I actually use Avira Antivir personal anti-virus and it works very well. It is in my opinion one of the best anti-virus programs for anyone to have. It is very important to have one of every computer so that the computer is safe. I actually retrieved this program from a friend of mine. He had the program copied on a CD. If you would like to learn more about it or purchase some software, try going to the Avira website www.avira.com. You will find out some important information.

If you searched sophisticated antivirus, you have to pay for using it for a year, and also in will burden you computer much. But for free, AVG antivirus is effective enough to protect our computer. Beside, the most important thing about antivirus is updating it. We often forget, or even too lazy to update the antivirus. If we don't update the antivirus, most probably it will never work again if a virus strike our computer. About slowing down the computer, it is irritating that every program that run down in system tray will burden our computer much. And antivirus have to run in system tray (that is run in the 'background') to be able to keep guarding our computer. That is why almost all antivirus will slow down our computer, especially when the antivirus run the scheduled scanning.
