Could You Go Without Your Morning Coffee?

It seems like for Americans morning coffee is part of the routine of waking up. Still it gets better as researchers have found health benefits in coffee such as helping the liver as well as aiding to prevent Alzheimers. It seems like the more the better as far as liver health is concerned. I drink soft drinks in the morning. I guess I'm not the typical rise and shine person.

Nope, no way, not gonna happen LoL! Their is NO way that I could function properly without my morning coffee! I enjoy having my morning coffee every morning. Then I go have a bath or shower, have breakfast, get ready, and then I'm off to work! One morning I didn't have coffee because I forgot I was out and didn't have time to run to the store before work and I was cranky. I just wasn't myself so the boss went and got me some coffee and said here have this, go on your break and wake up! LoL! I guess I'm like a zombie without it!

hi elmiko you can take away anything else from me in the morning but leave me my coffee.lol.yes we Americans love our coffee. seriously as an 83 year old woman I drink four to five cups every day as studies have proven women who consume at least four cups of coffee a day have way less incidences of Alzheimers and senility in their elderly years. to me soft drinks are really unhealthy and cause weight gain and can with all that sugar lead to diabetes. coffee is actually better for you. lol lol.

I soooooooooo agree with you on this Hatley! You can take away whatever you want, but leave me my morning coffee and nobody gets hurt! I don't think I could drink soda pop first thing in the morning ... It's WAAAYYYY too sweet! Has a ton of sugar which yes could cause weight gain or diabetes like you said, but also pop drinkers are prone to more cavities from the sugar and acid that eats away at the enamel on your teeth!

I don't need coffee in the morning, but I do like a cup of coffee in the afternoon when I go to the coffee shop to read. I don't drink coffee for the caffeine, I like it for the taste. I drink a mocha latte at Second Cup in the afternoons, because that's a little "me" time to sit and read.

thats cool not to need caffeine in the morning. i say i probably get better sleep though since i'm less likely to wake up since i don't need caffeine. i guess i like the choice of either waking up or not so drinking caffeine out of need in the morning is better. i got the advantage.

I can go without it fine. Sure, it's possible. When I have it though, it's sweet and hot and I want to get up and go, get busy and do. I can go without it fine, and i can get done what needs to be done, but I'd rather WANT to get it done.

I need my coffee in the morning for sure, i can t wake up really before i drink my coffee. All what i need in the morning is a shower and my coffee.I read about coffee benefits too, seems that is very good for skin, heart, brain; of course not to much coffee, just 1,2 cups in a day.

If I were to start a coffee drinkers anonymous group I would have to be expecting a LOT of people! For every single person all over the world with a coffee addiction! Wow! That would be a few people! BUT if we lived closer you'd be welcome to come over anytime!!

I have in the past, but it was not pleasant. I really do like coffee. I do work hard to limit my intake, so that I can drink more water during the day. If I could, I would probably drink it coffee all day long and deep into the night. I don't know if the research is true or not, but I would probably drink it regardless.

I don't drink coffee. It has caffeine an addictive substance. This is the reason why coffee drinkers are hooked into coffee and could not actually last a day without feeling discomfort unless they take coffee. I would rather just drink plain water than take a cup of coffee. I don't believe what researchers said that coffee has health benefits. How could an addictive stuff be healthy? Now with your habit of drinking softdrinks in the morning, I am sorry to tell you softdrinks is not healthy either. It will kill you softly actually. It has all the ingredients that your body does not really deserve. It may be that its cold and fairly sweet taste comes very heavenly to you but the high amount of sugar in cola drinks can bring diabetes, tooth loss, gingivitis and other periodontal disease. While they indeed give you refreshing effect it is a shocking reality that what you are drinking is a mixture of phosphoric acid, sugar, caffeine, artificial coloring, and flavoring matter which are all harmful to your health. Do you know that the phosphorous and phosphoric acid in your softdrinks can corrode your stomach linings, can disturb the alkaline-acid balance of your kidneys, and can destroy your liver? The food colorings and flavorings can lead to hepatitis and other liver disease too. Well dear, many will say that they don't believe because they have been drinking softdrinks for long but are still okay. Well that is why I am saying that softdrinks is killing you softly. Softly and by and by. Later in your life you will realize that you've destroyed it little by little by drinking softdrinks. Oh we are talking of coffee then why suddenly I dwell on the bad effects of softdrinks? Well I hope you will not get offended. I think that I have the responsibility to share this knowledge to anyone who would care to listen because I don't want anyone to get sick. To end up this discussion I would say that neither coffee nor softdrinks brings health benefits so I avoid them. It is better to drink fresh fruit juice in the morning or if you think that it would consume too much of your time and that you have no juicer then just eat the fruits. That will be very good for you.

i'm not offended. i really don't think people should be offended just because they don't hear what they want to hear. i would honestly rather drink more fruit juice and i like it better than soft drinks but though cost more so i drink soft drinks in their place. i have started drinking more fruit drinks and lessoned the soft drink intake somewhat. soft drinks every now and then shouldn't be a problem.

Hey elmiko~ I am much like you! I don't drink coffee! I did used to when I was working, but I also used to drink Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi in the morning too and preferred them alot more! I drank coffee in the mornings in the Winter time, but in the Summer I always drank soft drinks and then sometimes I would drink them too! I never really liked coffee! I am still more of a tea drinker! I love to drink Green Tea with lots of sugar and once in awhile I drink Hot Chocolate!

i just started drinking green tea not that long ago. i heard its good for increasing testosterone levels. i want to look stay more young looking so thats one of the reasons i'm drinking green tea. i heard about this in studies. i can see why you wouldn't want to drink coffee in the summer. it can dehydrate people somewhat.

I used to be a big coffee drinker but not so much anymore. I do like the taste of coffee and still drink it on occasion for that reason, but I hate the crash I get a few hours later. Lately I have been drinking Advocare Spark which is a flavored drink mix full of vitamins and just a bit of caffeine. It gives me mental clarity, long lasting energy and no crash. Spark beats coffee any day as far as I am concerned.

I am one of those who can't go without morning coffee. It's pretty much the only time of the day I drink it. Late afternoon or early evening coffee consumption will keep me up at night. I need that pick me up in the morning to get motived.

Dyed in the wool coffee drinker here. I cannot imagine a day without my cup o Joe. Especially since I am a migraine sufferer. The caffeine sure does help. The added health benefits are a bonus too.

Me either, I drink soft drinks in the morning too, I would say that's how I get my caffeine but I drink caffeine free diet pepsi..lol. It seems most people do drink coffee first thing in the morning, I think its a habit for some, and for some people they are actually addicted to the caffeine.
