Coming back from the same direction you went..

I know this sounds strange, but my Mom was somewhat superstitious. One of her biggest superstitious habits was: If you walk somewhere, whether it be outside or in the house, you need to come back from the same exact route. For instance, if you walk around the house from one particular side, then you come back from the same way. I am not superstitious, but I tend to catch myself doing that sometimes. Anybody else out there guilty of this?

did that when i was a child, not out of superstition but just a.. what you call this.. some kind of habit, i just want to do it that way... lol...
btw, what did your mom say about what will happen if you dont come back from the same exact route?
