I simply love to eat dry fruits. Cashew nuts, almonds, walnut, raisins are all very tasty to eat and good for health too if taken in limited quantity. We even add them to sweet dishes and some pulav and biriyani items. Do you like them? If so, which one is your favourite dry fruit?

I don't eat much of a dry fruit, more like fresh ones. But I like raisins and hazelnuts, cashew nuts and almonds. I return the question: do you like the fresh fruit? You can answer in my discussion about them!:)

Yum! I love the dried fruits too. I like this one store I go to where you can package up your own blend of the ones you like. Sometimes I'll buy a pre-bagged mix that they call trail mix. I always take them when riding in the car for a trip, or if I'm hiking or something. I almost always choose the dried mango, banana chips, raisins, pear bits, apricot, pineapple, and coconut. I like almost all of them, so it would be hard to choose just one as a favorite. If I had to choose only one as a fave, it'd probably be the pineapple. Haha, I haven't had any for a while, so this discussion made me add it to my grocery list! Never heard of pulav and biriyani, what are they?!

Yes I too add for pulav, ghee rice, sweets, payasam (liquid sweet), pongal etc. It adds taste while biting it in between the main dish.

Hi Buchi, I'm huge fan of whatever nuts and dried fruits for almost all of them are delicious heavenly I couldn't tell which one is the most yummy as they have their respective unique savor. It's quite difficult to compare food with different texture, aroma and taste. I just dislike those with high sugar content. Yeah, I hate eating heavy sweeties. Here one of the adjacent towns which is famous of its dried nutmeg. Some of the packets are dried shredded nutmegs, some are in slices and some are nutmegs cut into halves or more smaller equal pieces. I prefer the shredded one. Tourists and visitors would like to purchase some while having vacation there. Delicious dried ripe mango, banana, jackfruit and many other grilled nuts and beans are available here as well I always keep some stock of mixed dried fruits and nuts, so I can have them at anytime I like. The contents of these packet are mostly seeds of sunflower and pumpkin, green peas, black beans, raisins and dried figs. I love dried figs very much but imported item is always more expensive comparatively Take care and happy posting!

As usual an interesting and in detail response ikbooi. I do not know what is nutmeg. One by one I am searching in the internet and seeing the images of them like prunes, hazelnuts etc. Nutmeg I will see now. It is healthy to eat at least some of dried fruits daily. It will give stamina to us. I eat six almonds, two or three walnut pieces everyday.

My personal favorites are pineapple and apricot. They are so good. I limit the amount because if you eat alot of them they can add up the calories pretty fast. I like dried fruit because you can keep it longer than fresh fruit and it doesnt need to be keeped cold or anything when you take it with you to work or school.

I really like dried fruit mixes with a bit of everything, fruit and nuts and maybe seeds. I like taking them along when hiking, it is more healthy than chocolate but gives you a sugar boost and is quite filling.

Well, nuts, yeah, I love them... any kind. Hazel, pecan, and pistachio are my favorites. ...as far as fruits, I hated raisins when I was a kid, but I love them now, when they're a good brand, and fresh and juicy. Dried apricots are delicious - that's my favorite. I do like prunes, but obviously don't eat them much for regulatory reasons lol - bananna chips are good, but make your jaw sore after chewing for awhile. Dried pineapple is delicious... I'm sure dried versions of any fruit would be good, since I like fruit in general. We had a Ronco dehydrator once when I was a kid, I wish we'd done more with it.

Hi Buchi, I like cashew nut and almonds much but I don’t like raisins. I don’t like if it added in pulav or biriyani. I agree dry fruits should use in limited quantity; I think it contains more fat and may creates problem in our health. People are using dry fruits more in winter season and the reason may be it helps to stay warm in winter. Almonds and walnuts are good in winter.

I do really love to eat dry fruits. Especially the dried mango that was made here in the Philippines, in Cebu to be specific. I do like also the good taste of nuts especially the pili nuts. It's not so hard like the other nuts it was quite softer.

Hello? Good day to you! I really love dry fruits! And one of my favorite dry fruit was mangoe dry fruits. I remember when we always go in province my parents always buy it and a box of it was stock here in our house. Sometimes we just sell it and make a stand of dry fruits. Everymorning we can able to sold it very quickly and that's a very good business base on our experience. By the way, i've already tasted many kinds of dry fruits and all of them are really delicious.

Nature has given us lot of things to eat and store them as food. Unfortunately, different countries and dieffrent regions have different kind of natural resources. All the type of fruits and dry fruits are not available everywhere. What is important is the highly nutritious and energy level that we can get. Incidently, I don't have any love for dry fruits becuase they are dry. Haahh! Hahh!. If anyone gift me, i would like to pick Almonds.

They are dry that is why they are liked by people like me. The cuttack sound and the milky taste of the dry fruit are very tasty. However it is individual's taste.
