The Craziest Thing...

I was sitting at home yesterday with my kids and my sister and her son were here when these two guys knocked on the front door. No big deal, my husband's friends used to come around looking for him a lot - just not so much anymore since we are not working on our house at the moment (when we were remodeling, my husband would pay them to help). I had never seen these guys before, but they asked for my husband by name and I told them that he was at work, come back later. Then they asked when he would be off and if he worked the weekend and told me this story about how one of them had just bought a property and wanted some stuff out of another house that my husband and I own that is scheduled to be torn down. The weird thing was that the entire time he was talking he was smirking and would laugh a lot. I didn't say too much, I just sat there and stared at him. The craziest thing though was that in the process of telling me this story, he told me that he worked with my husband and "actually, we do the exact same job". I just told him that I knew the house was going to be torn down but I didn't know anything else about it. I really, really tried not to let him know that I was getting a little scared. They both finally left and I called my husband and he said he had no idea who those guys were and got mad at me for talking to them! I told him that from now on, I didn't care if I knew they were really his friends, but if someone came to our door looking for him while he wasn't home, I was going to tell them to get the heck away from my house. Creepy situation...

That is a scary situation. I am alone most of the day too as my husband goes to work and I stay home and take care of other peoples children as well as mine. I don't asnwer the door anymore if I don't know the person. We have a sign next to our front door that says, "No Solicitation". So if they didn't read that, then that's their problem. I'm glad you are OK. I think your husband probably got mad because he was scared for you. That something could have happened to you. It's that whole wanting to protect the little lady thing. Feel happy you have a husband that cares enough to get mad right? :) I think you have the right idea in not letting anyone else in. You just never know who is out there anymore!
