Have you ever come across a sign you thought was funny? Did that make you smile or did it offend you? I saw a sign in Thailand that says "President of Office" which should be Office of the President. There was also a sign that says, "Don't wash your feet in the toilet". I know for some it was just a bad English translation. I am not offended of such or mocking the people who wrote it... No offense to others, It's just very funny for me....

Go to china and you will see many misspelled english but when it is translated literally to Chinese, it make sense. some example i can provide is when you reach the airport (international), they refer Foreigners to be Alien.

Thanks for commenting cintoy, however, i beg to disagree about what you wrote, that the Chinese referring foreigners as aliens, is incorrect. Alien by definition, is a person who is not a naturalized resident of a country, or person from another and very different family, people, or place. Most people were under the impression that aliens are living creature of another planet in the solar system. And that the word alien cannot be used for people living on earth. Anyways, thanks again and see you around.

Alien is an English word and I'm sure you know that . Foreigners or alien, can both be used to people who are not a naturalized citizen of the country they are visiting. A good example is me..I am in Thailand at the moment, but i am not Thai. But i can be called an alien. The word alien is synonymous to unnaturalized. Foreigners in China are unnaturalized, so they can be called aliens there. I might also ask you to check your dictionary for you to verify my claim. Thanks

That's why i said that you should go to China to see for yourself. It is really written there. The Alien if translated literally to Mandarin can be mean as Foreigners. But why do they use Alien instead of Foreigner should be asked to Chinese people and i am not :D

I was with the school trip 3 years ago and we dropped by one new temple which was still under construction. Nature called so I went to the bathrooms. I immediately laughed and then took a photo when I read the signs "TOILET MAN" and "TOILET WOMAN". A day before that, we went to a mini pet zoo at a farm. I giggled and pointed the sign to my fellow foreign colleagues. It read "PETTING ZOO". I went there again late last year and the signs were the same and I bet still are. happy weekend, my friend! LOL

Oh yeah, they can take their pick for the choices mentioned here. How could i be so d.u.m.b of not seeng it? LOL. As for the petting zoo, I'll leave our fellow mylotters hanging, cause I don't feel like elaborating haha. I can't sometimes contain myself of excitement, anger, and the like. I try to avoid such, because I might get banned if i say things others might consider offensive .
