Are any of you out there in a large family there are 12 of us in the house. Some are brothers and sisters parents and everything in between. Right now my mother is sick so it is like I am a sister mother and housekeeper and while trying to keep it all together it is rough. My brothers and sisters are much younder then me there is an average of 20years between me and them. Then there are some that are 20 and they have problems so it is like they are young. Any ideas how to keep it together????? I feel like I am going nuts and between all of this we are TTC as crazy at that sounds we have not children of our own. We lsugh snd reallly do not argue except for regular kid stuff so what to do help me out

Hi, I cant say i have much experience in this area. i grew up only with my younger brother. it was hard enough :) i think you should be used to your family by now. i think that the only way is with a very good discipline and understanding. which i know is easier said than done. probably the older ones should try to set some rules. but there has to be some encouragement for the younger ones, so that it would be interesting for them to follow the rule. Good luck!

Well this family is very different I grew up as the baby of the family and mainly alone because of the age difference. My mother adopted all of these kids when I was not in the home. She asked my husband and I to move in about 6 months ago to help her and my stepfather out becuase she was ill. My husband and I are the only older ones and the 2 that I said where 20 are both handicapped. So I am not used to this yet somewhat I am but it is hard going from 2people to 12 in the blink of an eye and I do it all bills shopping etc

Wow, that's a lot to deal with. A lot of family and perhaps not much time to yourself. Do you get ANY time to yourself? My mother worked full time when her and my father broke up so I fell into the role you are in now but only had an older brother and younger sister, who treated me like a slave, but we got through and I'm sure they appreciate it now.
