How cold is too cold for you?

I am very cold natured, but I have found that I really like running in the cooler weather. Actually, I find that about 38-42 is the perfect range. It's a little cool when I start but perfect as I warm up! I have only run once when it was like 25, and it really wasn't too bad. But normally I don't run unless it's above freezing. That also depends on the wind chill too though! How cold is too cold for you?

It's not very funny when you've found your underwear frozen to your body, after perspiring from running home to get out of the cold! Yeah, yeah, I know. I hear you laughing. ..."You don't believe?" ..."YOU try!" ;-) cdrxo

I always say 42 is my perfect temperature. Because usually if it's in the 40s when I wake up, that's what it is. And after 10 minutes, I love it. But I never get any use out of my running jacket out here. It was only cold enough for that below 40.

About 38 is perfect for me! IF there's not a strong wind or anything. I don't have a treadmill so it's not an option. It's just funny to me since I am so cold natured!!

I like cooler weather for my area, which is 40-50 degrees. Hotter than 50 degrees and it slows me down a bit. Especially above 60. But last week I had the experience of running in 30 degrees and found it was a bit cold the whole time, which was annoying as even in over 14 miles I didn't really warm up. Still, I could probably get used to it and it wouldn't stop me from running.

Hi, macdingolinger. The coldest temperature that I can't stand to be in is 20 degree weather. This is a very cold temperature when you are outside. We had weather like this a couple of weeks ago and it was very cold outside, so very cold.. I like walking in cold weather that is in the 40s. I usually will warm up as I am walking. That is just how my body temperature is. But, I dare to never walk in 20 degree weather, that is just too cold for me. Anything between 10-20 degree weather is weigh too cold for me to be in.

Nice! That is awesome! So where are you at now for 5Ks? If I remember correctly, before you were trying to beat 30 minutes?

I don't run when it is too cold. Mostly the wind chill factor. It was very dangerous at one point this winter. IF it's not too cold with the wind chill I can layer up and run anyway. I am careful about exposed skin though!
