Tomorrow is India's Republic Day. How many of you are going to visit and watch the parade tomorrow. I usually watch the parade in which is conducted in marina beach, and then come home and switch on the TV and watch the bigger parade at NewDelhi. What do you do on Republic Day?

Hi Ramesh, Happy Republic Day. So how was the celebration? were you able to watch the parade and other significant events today? how does it feels celebrating one? i think the similar version of your republic day celebration here in the philippines is our Indepence DAy which is celebrated every 12th of June. WE too have a parade and it's also holiday!

Thanks for the response franscisco, yes I saw both our state and the nations, Republic day parade on the TV. It was a wonderful experience, and the President of South Korea was also there as the Chief Guest. We also celeberate our Independence day on August 15th.

Except for the parade, it does not have any significant experience for me. On this day I always see the might of the Indian armed forces. Of course there will be a lot of special programmes on the TV. Independence day is celebrated in a much bigger day, than the republic day.

Hi friend ! First of all ,i wish you a happy republic day in advance. Well, now i stay in hostel for higher studies. When i was in school, i used to take part in parade. There is a big ground in our city. On every republic day and independence day, there occurs parade. All the colleges and schools of my home city take part in the parade. Then the group performing the best parade is given award. But the school days are gone and i am away from my home city for higher studies in the capital city of my state. On every republic day, i get up early and finish up my daily duties. Then i go my college where i am doing my higher studies. There flag hosting ceremony occurs. Thr flag is hosted by our esteem principal of the college. We students then sing our national anthem and raise slogans. Then the principal give a nice speech, to create awereness among the students. Then sweet distribution take place. After that, everybody disperse. I go to the tv room to watch parade. After watching 30-40 minutes, i get back to my room for studies. Then,i really remember my school days when i was actively taking part in parade. After studing for sometime, i again go to tv room to watch good patriotic movies. Because on republic day, most of the channel show patriotic movies. In this way , i enjoy the republic day every year. Thanx for sharing.

So nice of you to respond Samrocks. I really envy you. Yes going to college and attending the RD parade in the college, is something great. I was in NCC in the college and one year, our college NCC was selected for the RD parade in our city. Since I was the Senior Under officer, I was selected to lead the mens march past. This was one of the greatest day in life. Even though I had gone and marched in Delhi RD parade, there is nothing like parading in front of your own people and in your own town.

I don't go anywhere...just making children ready for their school programs and then watching their happy faces after they return ...i also like to share with them...how we enjoyed when we were children....and how we used to wash our white canvas shoes and iron our own clothes...the great spirit for nation we had when we used to go to hoist flag at schools ...it was so enjoyable...the days are gone now...yes..TV is with us all
