Does anyone else have SEVERE reflux disease? How do you control it? I am so sick of medicines that don't work and no matter what I eat I feel terrible. The only way I don't hurt is if I don't eat. The stomach pains of not eating actually feels better than the consequences of eating. I started drinking soda again, and haven't been paying too much to what I eat - those are the things I like, and I feel just as bad as if I eat a salad. I have tried to go on an organic diet, and while I did feel a little bit better I was unable to afford it. I know if I lost some weight it would help a little.

hi! can you try avoiding caffeine or at least minimize it? it can somehow trigger or make your condition worse. citric juices and fruits is not advisable also. drink plenty of water. put a couple of pillows under your head when sleeping. your head area should be slightly higher than your stomach area so that acid levels don't come up. avoid stress and sleeping late or sleeping less than 6 hours. lack of sleep can also trigger heart burns. same sensation as when you are experiencing acid reflux.

Yeah, I completely cut caffeine out of my diet, I increased my water intake and on and on. I still drink plenty of water, I simply end up bloated. I felt no better when I ate "right" than I do now. I am frustrated and upset and I am an emotional eater (and soda drinker). I find it hard to eat "right" when it still hurts so much worse than not eating at all. And if I feel just as bad when I am eating foods that I can't stand the taste of, why not eat foods that I like and feel bad? I feel like I have tried everything. I am at the point right now, that I am getting out my book on organic eating and making a grocery list. It is really expensive though, and my kids get angry because they say there is nothing to eat. I have tried it twice before, and it wasn't my lack of will power that made me quit, it was the fact that I ran out of food and money before payday and was forced to buy the cheap, nutritionally inadequate food to sustain us until payday. It has been about a year since I tried it last though, so maybe I can find some more affordable choices. Ironically, it is a good day if I just feel the heartburn and not the crushing torso pain (and yes, I have been thoroughly checked out by my Dr. - it is GI related, not heart). Thanks for the response!

true, some herbs are effective only if taken in short amounts and for a specific period. and not all can be mixed together. i attend regular seminars on herbal supplements and they also teach natural remedies and cheaper alternatives. i'll look out for something that may help you. for now, since tea is diuretic, it would help you flush out excess water from the body. unfortunately it also has caffeine. that's why i favored the one with the agaricus extract... helps eliminate the effects of caffeine. take care.
