Well it's Australia Day. So Happy Australia Day to all the Aussies out there. And a happy birthday to my son Aiden. 11 today. We have had a nice morning down at the local park. They put on a free breakfast, which was really good. The committee did a great job. They had an award ceremony, with some very deserving recipients. What do you do on special days like Australia Day? What special days do you have where you are?

Hi, just wish to say 'happy birthday' to your son Aiden. May God Bless. In my country, such moment special, I think every 'Independence's Day'. We all celebrate with many programs, contests, dinner with neighbors etc. Have a nice day. Cheers,

thank you atleya for your wishes. We are in a very small town, so our celabrations are on a small scale. In bigger towns and cities they have a lot more things. But I like our small community and the closeness of everyone in the town. Thanks for your response.

Hi Kay...the first year I was here for Australia Day was 2006. I had a bbq for a few friends on the front verandah. It was just meat and salad and drinks but it was a great get together. I've since found out that our town does nothing to celebrate Australia Day...bit of a shock and a huge disappointment...there is nothing in the surrounding area either. I'm so glad you get to celebrate in your little town. Cheers mate!

I think all towns should celebrate Australia Day. Yes, it is sad that your town doesnt have anything. We sometimes have a bbq with friends, but we didnt this year. Best wishes to you my friend
