cinema tickets - three Avatar cinema tickets I bought for my colleague

My this discussion is another proof to say it is a rumor that Avatar is banned in China. My colleague asked me to buy her three Avatar tickets on this Saturday. Since I live nearby the cinema, I like to help her because this movie is crazy popular lately. The tickets can be sold out in a short time. This movie has been available nearly one month, but it is still so popular because many people wait and buy the tickets. I successfully bought the tickets at 10:10 dated on Jan.28. This movie is played on Jan.30 at 11:30. This movie's environment comes from Zhang Jia Jie which is one of a popular traveling spots in China. Now there is a journey called "Avatar Journey" in Zhang Jie Jie: http://msn.ynet.com/view.jsp?oid=63021317&pageno=2 Do you still insisting in saying China banned this movie? If so, I am afraid you are a little stubborn.

Hi youless, I followed the other discussions on this. I believed you that it is not being banned as you live right there in China and so must know the truth. The 2D movie was understandably removed from some theaters and not only in China. I read up on some of the links provided and I could also see clearly where the misunderstanding was coming from. Some of the articles did say the China was banning the movie because they feared a revolt of the people. Just goes to show that the media is not always accurate and sometimes its very far from it.

I don't just follow one news source. I know how very different each source can portray news. You can't take any of it to be gospel truth. You have to listen to all sources and somehow try to piece together the truth. In this case it made no sense at all that they were banning the movie due to fear of rebellion. If that were true then they would not show the 3D movie. The 2d movie was actually removed from theaters in many areas not just China.

The movie is crazy popular everywhere. Rumor on Internet is just a rumor. Like I said before on other discussion, I do trust what you say. It is hard to buy tickets for Avatar here as well. Is it expensive for an average family?

I am very happy to hear that As to the Avatar ticket price, actually I think it is the same for other movies. Today watching movies in the cinema in a nice time is expensive. It will have discounts in the mornings before noon and at late nights. If it is a good movie, people are still willing to watch it in the cinema.

Here in my place 10 to 20 percent of discount is given to kid under 10, as well as senior citizen. It depends on what movie is screening. We can make advance online ticket booking too. It’s quite convenient.

I had not heard this about the "banning" that of course is not happening. It is interesting to know that the environment comes from there. It is so good of you to pick up tickets for your colleague.

Since you are there and you are a living proof that this movie is making headlines in your country, nobody is more qualified than you to quash all rumors about this movie being banned in your country.

I know nothing of it being banned anywhere. What I do know is that I have seen nothing but very good reviews about the movie. I didn't even know it was still in the theaters...thought it was out for sale or rent already. Apparently all the reviews I am reading, they have gone to the theater. Marsha

youless, I am sure that there is already an understanding that the film is NOT completely BANNED in China. I felt we should let this matter rest and you are right that China is indeed supportive or rather very supportive of the film. Zhangjiejie is indeed awesome according to the recent news article, check it out from another news source below. youless, Well, I don't think you are alone here but I am sure with this post, I think it would have settled the issue beyond any other reasonable doubts. The fact is that the news was reported in error from Reuters and it just start a host of reactions. The worst of it being interpreted as a move by your central government to avoid a revolt within your country. I just could not help laughing my head off and reaffirm just how ill knowledge the writer at the other end was. Anyway, I am sure this is just a passing, no more convincing is needed. You cannot help them if they want to look stupid, so let them be. "If a man be under the influence of anger his conduct will not be correct." - Confucius

You must remember Youless people thrive on rumors. Some people like to get a rise out of others. Some people get off on creating silly rumors. Its clearly a lie if you bought three tickets. Dont listen to rumors or innuendo. By the way I have seen the movie. ITS AWESOME! You have to see it! dl

yes i heard from one of co-mylotters that avatar was banned in china. so it's just a rumor? hmmm... i'm also thinking the reason why did china banned avatar anyway? for me it's a good movie, i love the image effects and the story is just okay. so why ban it? right? good to hear that it is not banned and for clarifying the issue about this. hope you enjoy avatar too. :)
