Japan

I am studying as a student in Japan. There is a ellective subject i need to take in order to get my credits. But the problem is that all of the subjects instead of English are all in Japanese ( like social science and law ). I am a foreign student so my English is much better than the local japanese. This is quite confusing but if i take English, people might say that i'm a ... jackass... while choosing other subjects might jeopardise my future study ahead. What should i do??

Never give in to peer pressure. You have to decide what's best for you. If choosing the subject in English is best for you do it and don't look back.

It is ok if you want to choose English. Like you said, it is just a selective class, so it is not important. You should get hold of the main thingS before you take care of the odds and ends. If I were you, I would have taken the Enlish class. By the way, in the japanese English class, you can also see a teaching of English from another angle different from your own country!

if I allow to make suggestion, the first thing you need to do is determine what is your future goal by studying in japan. if you just wants to collect credit so.. taking english is the best choice, but if your goal is you can get more knowlege I would sugget you to spend some times to take japaneese laguale private lesson and choose othe subject other than english. it would be more usefull for you and more relevant to your goal. good luck

Don't worry about what the other people think or say.You should do as you think is appropriate. If you think about what the others might say and take the Japanese subject its going to affect your grades subsequently your future. So do as you wish.I used to have this problem and it pulled me down in many places.Even in some cases where I was thinking of the right action. I have reduced that fear, not completely though.

At least you know English and you will find it easier and as for the local Japanese they will be already at an higher level not just the basics so it will be difficult for you to cope up with the subject. I would advice you to go with English as its a universal language and topics on english ever end !
