One liners: what's your line - sorry, take - on this?

I know Mylot doesn't pay out for one line answers, but I take it that's only relevant to people who use this site specifically to earn? I don't, I use it for fun. I only ever reach payout if I do Sharon Bucks tasks which I don't have time for now (sorry, Shal!) Anyhow, does Mylot take it as a personal affront if, occasionally, we do put one line comments? I rarely do this, but occasionally I put a witty aside or a short comment to what someone else has written, not in hope of earnings but just to add a touch of input. Is this wrong? Do you ever do this? And does MyLot punish us for doing so, e.g. by reducing earnings made from other posts? Your comments please. There we go - 9 lines and no passes.

Hello, Jazzsue. There's nothing wrong with an appropriate or witty one-liner, and we certainly shouldn't post everything with an eye on the dollar signs, otherwise quality will suffer. I drop in the odd one-liner myself, but what I really enjoy is to get into a nice debate, preferably with several people in the same response box to get a real discussion going.

Me too. I never start one-line discussions, or give one-line comments to discussions, but I do put one-liner comments to other people's comments. Thanks for the reply.

I don't know whether or not they pay for one-line responses, and we really are not supposed to know, either. I would hope that we would earn something for them, even if they combined several just to add up to a penny. I do sometimes comment with one line responses, if that is all it takes to convey my message. Most of the time, though, I have plenty to say, and I tend to "pop-in" on many of my friend's response boxes in one discussion. I think that it makes it more interesting than just replying one or two lines here and there, although I must admit that it is difficult for me to keep track of all the comments that I leave all over the place at times.

The one liners are fun and they add so much to so many of the boxes where I have seen them happening. Many more Lotters are using them too of late and that is why I am getting behind! There is a lot of difference in my opinion between a discussion that starts with one line and a series of one liners inside the response boxes after the first main response in the box itself.

I too am here mainly for the fun part even then my responses are rarely one liners. That’s because in most cases I respond only when I really am sure of saying something ! apart from that, there are many lotters here who exchange one-liners and they all are very witty and know what they are talking about mainly coz english is their mother tongue…now english is not my mother tongue so I really don’t know how to frame such witty one liners! I can say the same in my own language (witty, sarcastic, to the point) but when I translate the same, it just loses its punch LOL

Well I do not think it si wrong if our one line still makes sense.Irrespective of whether we get paid for htta one line or not , we have the satisfaction of having contributed soemthing to the discussion[if it is a witty aside it really does not matter when itis in good taste].On the other hand if it is a witty one sar castic liner or a one line thta is meaningless then thre is no point contributing to the discussion isn't it?That is my opinion.

When I joined Mylot I am one of the idiots who didnt read the Mylot rules at first. So I do some one liners. I also did respond to discussions to less then 3 lines because I should of know. I know now I lost out on some money because of that. Now when I post I try to write at least three lines. I'm here to make money, voice my opinion, get my foot in my mouth and tick off people which I don't try to! It just something I am good at which I don't like about myself and need to work on. When it comes to being funny forget it! I try to be but trying to do it on paper or the internet forget it! What I have in my head never comes out right on paper!

mylot only says we post quality discussions and responses but they did not tell us to post long discussions. Thus, they did not eliminate the possibility of short one liners as long as it makes sense.
