There must be a part inside your laptop that has to do with your power supply. You need to change it. And if you can also check if your cable is connected ok if it's a 2 part cable. And check with another cable if you can get it anywhere. Also i suggest you plug in the battery if it still works for like 3 seconds if that helps you diagnose what isn't working. Good luck!

Sounds to me like you may be out of luck. It looks like the laptop doesn't appear to be receiving enough power. With the battery out its difficult to test for this. I should know, about a year and a half ago I had to replace the battery from my old laptop because it finally gave. Then eventually the power cord stopped sending enough charge. You can tell if enough power is going to your power cord by the brightness of the light on the power cord. How I knew my power cord was fried, the indicator light on the power cord no longer lit up when connected to the wall. Depending on the age, chances are you'll end up having to replace the unit. Now you said you can't afford one right now, but have you thought about leasing options? If your credit is good, you can get a Dell perferd card, and pay off the balance monthly. However, if you don't have good credit, or any credit, you can go to Arrons, or a place like that and lease the computer from them. I'm currently doing that now with the laptop I'm using at this very moment. I couldn't afford to pay it out right so I'm leasing-to-own. Meaning at the end of eighteen months, I'll own the laptop, no questions asked.

Maybe You have a friend who knows something about laptops, maybe he could help you, or just ask for fixing at the shop where you bought it... I think it must have a guarantee at least 1 year...

Maybe there is someone you know that can get it fixed for you. dell computers are relatively strong so may be you can get it fix. on the other hand you can try and save money in order to get the necessary parts for it. if not well just try as hard as possible to buy a new one because in today`s society the use of computers are taking over the world and without a computer or any other advance technology you can get left behind. Do you think this is true?
