Oral Benefits * Alleviates dry mouth discomfort * Freshens breath * Neutralizes acids formed from the mouth by bacteria * Remineralizes enamel to strengthen teeth * Cleans the mouth of food debris * Whitens teeth by reducing stains and preventing stains from accumulating * Reduces plaque * Helps reduce cavities * Reduces gingivitis to maintain healthy gums * Kills the germs that cause bad breath

Nope, I do not like chewing gum even at the best of times, especially people who chew it with an "attitude" Although, after all these oral benefits you have listed related to the chewing of gum, maybe I will give it try

yes there are people who chew gum with other purpose. some just want to be boastful while chewing gums. i hate it when they have their gums during classes or when talking in front of the crowd. it's a gross attitude.

It causes slight movement of the Eustachian tube, allowing air pressure to equalize on both sides of your eardrum. well it's always your choice whether to chew gum or not.

Oh!i didn't know so many things are related with chewing gum.All I know is i can blow bubbles and the worst I experienced once is that I blew a big bubble but that burst to stick on my nose. So,I stopped from then, thinking that it is for kids. Now,as you have enlightened with all those benefits, let me try it again.

Good to hear about those benefits. I like gum too but I dont chew gum as much as I did before. I just thought that chewing gum is not a very good habit because they said its rude to chew gum.

I agree with you flagella, chewing gum after eating has its benefit, some dentist recommend chewing gum after meal others recommend brushing but it depends more on the person, for me I rather chew gum that brush my teeth after eating because the time wasted from brushing your teeth, I have a tight schedule I rather bring a gum and chew it. It depends more on the person. hehe

I too would like to eat gum after a meal but, I often don't get the chance to do that. (-_-") So, any chewing gum would do or there are some brands that really do that things that you have listed on your discussion...?

I seldom chew gums today because I think it is not very good for the health. I prefer to gargle by water only rather than chewing gums. I love China

Sometimes I do when I am too lazy to brush my teeth after lunch and I am expecting to be talking to someone any time of the day. :)

I usually chew gum after lunch break, because I don't have opportunity to brush my teeth at school. I know that bad breath can be quite bothering, so that's why I chew gum. When I'm at home, I usually brush my teeth after morning or evening meal. When I eat something in between, some snacks perhaps, I tend to use chewing gum too.

I used to chew gum after eating my lunch but I now eat a mint after eating my lunch and I have a chocolate or sweet after having my dinner. I can't just eat my lunch or dinner and not having something after it for some reason. lol.

That is really interesting! I like to chew gum too, but cannot usually do so at work. It's good to know about the oral benefits. Maybe discuss it with my boss and ask him if we can do so in the cafeteria or during our breaks.

hi,there! I see there are lots of benefits. But expert also suggest that chewing gum do not over 15minutes,those who have too many stomach problems even more care for chewing gum.because a long time chewing will reflex much gastric and secretion.Especially in the fasting state, not only cause nausea, loss of appetite,anti-acidic water and other symptoms,long-term effect may also increase the stomach.

I seldom do it like this because I don't like the taste of gum at all.I usually brush my teeth after eating instead of chewing gum for all its many merits.
