The 2010 Philippine elections is a showcase of politicians and celebrities. But what's really interesting is that these are the times that the candidates show their true colors. Case in point Risa Hontiveros-Baraquel. Who was a party-list representative for a "leftist" groups. Advocating the rights of the farmers attacking the alleged injustice of the Cojuangco-Aquino clan in the Hacienda Luisita escapade. But now that she is running for the senate... goodbye advocacy and hello number one in surveys presidential candidate Noynoy Cojuangco-Aquino! From an advocate to a TRAPO (Traditional Politician) in a flash. Blinded by ambition she forgets the reason why she was a representative in the first place! Anyone else who fits this Category?

Political turncoats are everywhere dear and Risa is a milder version. It could have been better if you started with Vice President candidate Loren Legarda. From anti-Erap to pro-Erap, from pro-Gloria to anti-Gloria and now, from Villar accuser to Villar defender. Then you have Nene Pimentel who was incarcerated during the Martial Law. Now, his daughter Gwendolyn is running with Bongbong Marcos under the Nacionalista Party. Oh, you also have Satur Ocampo and Liza Maza, who were always cringing whenever the Marcoses were mentioned, under NP now. There are more dear. So we really have to be choosy in voting.

I agree and I am hoping that this would be the turning point. I just want to get rid of all the Traditional politicians. Leaders should be leading our country.

This clearly means that they're no PERMANENT allies in the politics, they would shift to those who better, popular and leading. what? even satur ocampo? i just lost my respect in him. is it true that he is the one founded the New People's Army? if that's the case we should watch out for him.

hi, Can you send us some links that would support your claim? Risa has been fighting the administration for years now. i have seen her platform once but some how i didn't give too much attention to it. are you sure about this? why did she join aquino when she has obligation to the Luisita Victims?

I haven't checked for it online. It should be in youtube somewhere. I'll try to find it but youtube's not allowed in our office so it may take awhile. In any case, just watch out for her commercials during prime time and be surprised when Noynoy endorses her under LP yourself. I guess its because she turned out to be a TRAPO instead of the advocate we hoped she really was...
