This is terrible!! Paypal is reversing payments for Indians...happened to me ...

Friends there is going to be trouble when we receive payment from mylot later this month. paypal has reversed payment and not accepting payment for Indians from any source....It happened to me yesterday when Factoidz sent my monthly earnings to paypal and they promptly sent it back and below I have given the gist of the letter sent to me by them...
.....[b]We reversed this payment because we have stopped allowing personal
payments to be sent to or from India.
If this was a payment for a purchase of goods or services, and not a
personal payment, then you may contact the buyer and have him or her
resend the payment as follows: (a) click the Send Money tab, (b)
select "Goods," and (c) provide a shipping address.
If this payment was a personal payment such as a gift, then we have
requested that the sender find another payment method until we restore
personal payments to and from India.
We are trying to resolve this issue as quickly as possible and we're
sorry for any inconvenience.[/b]
So, I am wondering what is going to happen to our payments here and elsewhere? Mylot has no alertpay facilities as far as I know so....
lets hope that things get resolved and we are not put into any difficulties because of this sudden change of policy by paypal...

actually this happened to me last jan17 to be exact. i got an email from paypal clearing the issue. i tried to resolve it but it was reversed still. although until now, im still waiting for the result. im from the philippines and one of my friend here which is from canada(if not mistaken) experienced the same thing. whew just hope this thing will be resolve in time.

Hi Kiran!
It appears really a disheartening news to us.
It means that our earnings from mylot are not going to be credited to paypal account and if mylot sends our earnings to paypal, we will not be able to withdraw it?

As the letter already stated that it is a glitch and that they are working to resolve the issue and have the personal account transactions reinstated, so I do not think there's much you can do except wait for them to reinstate it again.
On the hindsight, since these online payment processors' arbitrary issues can result in suspension of services and even complete pull outs without any legal obligations to any country's governmental laws, I would advise against leaving substantial balances in your accounts and that you do periodical withdrawals on your account.

Hi skysuccess, thanks a lot for your response and advise. i agree with you about not leaving substantial balance in paypal account. In fact I had just got almost all my money transferred to my bank account a week ago. the money is yet to be credited though....will have to wait and see.I suppose things will work out since they have a lot to loose if they do this since there are so many Indians holding paypal accounts...all the best and happy mylotting

Hi Kiran,
I came to know about this from mylot only. The letter which sent by Papal is assuring that they will restore the service at the earliest. I also reached payout in mylot now I have doubt about the payment. They will send payment within 3-4 days it may create problem I think. I am really confused now. I am not sure whether mylot is sending the money as personal or business options, if it is personal then we don’t get the money.

Hi Sreekala, I too had reached payout this moth , however I increased my minimum payout tioday to $ 25 so that the money does not get credited. I would rather wait and see for sometime.One thing reassuring is that apparently this had happened a couple of years go and it was sorted out and things were back to normal, so lets hope for the best ...

This has happened with me too.My money from trekpay has been reversed.Moreover i have requested withdrawal of funds from paypal on 4/2/2010 and i got an email that they are not making payments to Indian Banks as of now.I am worried.Our hard earned money is going to be wasted.
I hope that things get resolved and we get our payments in time.

Hi krti, kala, there is no problem with withdrawal of money or transfer from paypal account to our bank accounts. It is just that they are not accepting any payment into the account from out side sources hich means we cannot claim our earnings from any of the sites including mylot. i dont see any other option here. They pay only through paypal....

Obviously something has alerted Paypal to some dubious activities, not on your account, but in general for them to take this action. I can sympathise as I have had my fair share of issues with Paypal over the years and try to avoid using them wehre I can. I hope they resolve things quickly and restore this facility so you do get your payments without any issue.
