Big Crunch

No, it's not some candy bar brand. I believe every one here has been exposed to the Big Bang Theory, where the universe explodes from a single state of matter, creating time and space. Big Crunch is the counterpart of the Big Bang, where it is hypothesized that the Universe will roll back to the centre, returning everything into nothingness, or so I understand. I'd looked upon information on the net, and it was very intriguing. I would like to know if any of MyLotters can explain better this theory?

I have never heard this theory, but it sounds a pretty far fetched to me.
