In my country, Saturday is working day. So every employees are expected to come and work for half day. in my company field, i am expected to work full day on Saturday. Do you think we should be working on Saturday? My company expect us to work on Saturday even though we are dealing with international market. I believe some Asian countries work on Saturday as well. For Asian, do you work on Saturday? For all, do you think we should work on Saturday? please share your thoughts

i am a musician and we are more busy during weekends. so i work fridays, saturdays and suindays. sometimes we even have out of town work that we have to be away from thursday. its okay for sometimes we are off during mondays or wednesday so i have time to rest and to be with my family. we go out and have fun as long as we have budget. work is important, and my wife is a singer also before so she understand the logic and the time of work.

Hi cintoy, I don't think anyone should have to work on a Saturday unless they want to and earn some extra money with a bit of overtime. I think companies that try to impose working weekends as compulsurary are just pure evil. I only work a Saturday when I chose so I guess I am lucky. I value my free time more than I do money and the less time I have to spend at work the better

That's a shame. So your company consider Saturday as part of the working week, it seems more and more companies are doing that which is a bit unfair. But I know how you feel, if you don't go in then you lose a days wage

I don't think anyone should have to work on the weekends. I used to do it all the time work on Saturday and sometimes Sunday but I got so tired of not having time with family and friends. No time to enjoy life. Now I don't work on weekends finally!!! And I am much happier!! I was so stressed before because of that. Now I feel like I have time and space to breathe. It is a great thing to walk out the door at 4 pm on a Friday and not have to come back until Monday morning! For some people they like to work on weekends but me No I did it for so long now I feel like I am free!!

No. I don't think you should work any day you don't want to. Do they pay you on Saturday? I think if you have a problem going to work, you should quit and give the job to someone that needs work. We have a terrible economy in America right now, with thousands of people wishing they could find work on Saturday.

i'm not in America, btw. It's the rules that we should work on Saturday. No additional income when i come and definitely cut from my salary if i didn't come. =D

We usually put in five days worth of work a week and take two days off at a call center. Any other extra work is being paid with a bit of incentive. But I guess we could be active on Saturday. Actually, since most people are working weekdays and if you're working in one of those places that could benefit from the saturday traffic then why not? Although it feels like you need to get paid extra for these days though.

I am from the United States and I dont work on Saturdays. But I work at home on Saturdays cleaning house. There is a lot of people that do. hospitals have people working even on sundays. My sister works monday through Thursday, there office is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. I think people should have off Fridays also

i believe for those whose company is a public service company such as hospital, the employees are working with 1 day off but each worker will have different off days so the company will still operates everyday.

I used to work on Saturdays and I hated it.. 8:30-3:30 were my hours.. I work from home now and I do work on Sat but I am home so its not so bad. I think businesses should be open on Sat because thats when the majority of people are off.. Its a good day to make money but a miserable day to work....

Many people in many countries work in saturday, so I don't see it strange. If I could choose, I would work only 2 days a week, but you can't have everything in life

haha. working 2 days a week but 24 hours a day will be fine as well?? what do you think??

Well I live in the United States so I don't have to work on Saturdays, but I do believe that the people should have some time off during the week, because you need to have fun and to spend time with your friends, this is part of a good life-work balance, you also need to rest, these days, with the life we live, it is very easy to get carried away with the stress that we all have. I think that every worker should have 2 free days at a week, it doesn't matter when, but I think that the way it should be.

lot of the people all over the world work on weekend i mean on saturday and u talking about asian, satuday is not a day off in asia.only sunday is a day off in asia..specially in USA n europe satuday and sunday are day off.i think its better to work only five days a week and just chill out on the other two days.if we do so we will feel really fresh for all five days.only a single day off in a week makes us tired.

A lot of companies have work on Saturdays. I'm glad to have worked in one where we only go to work from Monday to Friday. Actually, it doesn't really matter much to me me that we have no work on Saturday and Sunday, what matters more is that we have a 5-day work week. So whichever day the rest days fall is fine by me, as long as they fall "consecutive" to each other.

I think it has to be everyone's individual choice. I don't think that someone should be forced to work on a Saturday if they don't want to. There's talk about family time now and flexible working hours and things like that. I think it's important that any employee remains happy at all times. Andrew

no certainly not , there is no reason to work on saturdays, in our college also they keep classes on saturdays, but students must protest against this.Because in a week 5 days is for working and remaining 2 days is for taking rest..

In my previous line of employment, we were still required to work on saturdays, however the hours we were required to work for were considerably less than week-day shifts, so it wasn't all bad i suppose

No matter what country I think it's best to work even on Saturdays because it will benefit you specially during this times of recession. If you asked about working Sundays I would quickly disapprove it. In Dubai they work during Sundays because their weekends are Friday and Saturday

I live in Asia, and i don't work on saturday, and i am never expected to work on this day. As worker, we need some days to take a rest to refresh our body and mind from working activity. And saturday, its week end. I dont think that it will be good to work on week end. We should have fun for the week end. Too much working is not good too. We work for living, but not live for working. We need to have fun and happy things for our live, and i think working is too tiring and for me, its impossible to have fun at work. In my work place, i have so many tasks to do, and many pressure too, so i need to get free from all of those things. If i only have a rest time on sunday, i think thats not enough for me.
