Rainy days give no mercy to tv cables. The screen will blank out and the whole night or day means no tv reception as long as there is heavy downpour.

mine's usually fine unless it's windy out. that usually messes with the signal.rain doesn't really affect it much.

It's possible that the cause of your problem is rain. I've had similar situations too. When it rains really hard, my the satellite dish gets full of water and the water screws up all the signal. I only get to watch a couple of local channels then, because they have a stronger signal.

for the local channel we need the normal 'aerial' which we did not put up so we cant really view them

If it is cable it shouldn't be any problem during a rainy day, the cable lines goes underground, so there is not any problem in a rainy day, unless something has been broken underground, but that can haven even on a sunny day, on the other hand if you have satellite tv, then with a rainy day the reception can be affected, but in the last couple of years the satellite tv companies have improve greatly this problems. 5 years ago the reception with satellite tv in a rainy day was totally horrible.

Hi Sanjana, Last time when heavy rain occurred and the city life disturbed much and I clearly remembered there was no Cable network for two days. Due to strong winds trees falls and it disturbed the cable net work. Not only the cable but electricity was also not there in many places. So in your place also there must be some disturbance due to heavy rain. I guess you are getting bored without TV program and sitting inside due to rain..

During the rainy days here, the cable reception works just fine. you can still watch all your favorite shows. It would have to be really rainy and windy for the cable service to be cut off or disrupted for the entire day. I hope you get your cable back up soon.

yes of course it has to be really heavy rain when the reception is distrupted

well i had neighbours who used to experience the problem what you say about now.but i and my neighbour used services from different cable operators.i think the problem what you think about depends on the cable quality you're cable operator uses.rain or wind wouldn't affect the channels if good quality cables are used.

here we have been monopolized by one major operator only .. so there is no choice at all ..

ya the cable reception is quite pathetic during the rainy dayz, but since the satelite tv has come the situation has improved a lot but still rains affect the reception quality a lot.

isnt cable tv same as satelitte tv ..?

yes the reception would be very poor during the rainy season . sometimes due to more rain the cable wires could cut off and thus bring some more disappointment in preventing us from watching the programs we love ... mostly we will fell the heat only when we are not able to see the favoutite programs of us . once i was very upset because i was not able to watch a very important f1 race which decided the title . it gave me a huge disappoinyment . there are lots of times when these things have happened

wow that was really bad ... you must have planned to watch F1 ..

In the rainy / cloudy day, my dish tv signal goes down. But cable operator's line provides signal even in rain or cloud. How does cable operators signal works?
