I sold this green dress on ebay and paid the shipping to send it well the lady couldn't fit in the dress. So she sent it back. Now I am out 10.00 for the shipping. Is it wrong for me to want this shipping paid back to me? Or am I nuts and be thankful that she at least sent the dress back? Now she wants me to put the money back into her account and I don't have a clue how to do this. So she sends me an emai saying my credit card has been paid with 60.00! I don't have a credit card! And she wants me to send her 45.00 in a money order or a check! So what do you think I should do? I don't have 45.00 it is still in pending on pay pal. What would you do?

hi! No, i haven't sold anything on ebay till now, but I have bought a card reader one month ago an I still haven't received it, and I am really disappointed, because it was a good and qualitative one, but the Bulgarian posts are something really awful and I will not be surprised if somebody have stole it or have lost it somewhere!

Hi Phoenix. I hate to wait for something that I buy. I guess that is one reason I don't like spending money on ebay cause you have to wait for so long to get what you ordered. I hope you get your card reader soon. Good luck!

I've sold quite a few things in online auctions, but never clothes. If you put the right size in, I would have said that she didn't have any reason to send it back. And in my opinion she should pay the shipping, but as long as she can't send you proof the she has sent you money, you shouldn't send anything back. If she has transferred money she has to have some proof that she has done so, so ask her if she can send you that before you do anything. If the you get the money, then I would have paid back the price minus the shipping.

Hi Torunn. It is in my pay pal account but it is standing in the pending. So I can't get it to send her anything till it is released by pay pal. I don't know why but it was put into my pay pal account under pending I guess it is buyers protection. Pay pal sent me an email when she put this money into my account but I wouldn't be able to get it out until the 15th of this month February so I can't send her any money back till I am able to get the money out of my pay pal account. I will do as everyone has said on here and not refund her shipping rate. I thank of you for your help I really was upset about this whole thing. Ebay charged me a dollar or more and pay pal charged me a little over a dollar and then the shipping rate, and to be honest to you we live on disability and what I make off here during the winter months, so we don't have any extra money to be sending out things and having them sent back. Just can't afford to do this. Now during the warmer months we make a little extra to carry us from one end of the month. I think she is trying to pull the wool over my eyes cause she wants her money out of my pay pal account and thinks I will just send her money through the mail. I was born at night but not last night. If you know what I mean.

Hi Smukherjee_on_line. Well the only way to gain experience is to try it. But make sure you check on the sellers/buyers rates that is the one thing you have to watch out for. See if they get good or bad feed back. And check how long they have been selling too. I learned this from experience. I had brought two items from there and got sort of bumbfuzzled.

well i will say one thing this new buyer protection they have put into effect is going to cause alot of problems. i could see a week, but 3 weeks what are they thinking? i don't sell alot on ebay, but i have in the past and never had any problems thankfully, but with this new policy they have put into place its gonna take forever just to get paid which seems very unfair to the sellers. why should you have to wait that long to get your payment a week seems more then fair unless the buyer lives far away then i could see maybe it being a little longer. it used to be if you got paid through paypal you could just go on there and send the buyer a reversal i think you had up to 60 days to be able to do that. i do agree with you in that your buyer ought to contribute to the shipping costs, because it was not your fault that they bought the wrong size. if you go to the page where you got paid on paypal you should be able to refund the payment through there.

Hi Timhinyy. I don't know why it has to be 21 days before I could get paid. I will try what you suggested and see if that works but I will still have to wait till the 15th of this month to get my payment. I will charge her the shipping and see what happens. She lives in New York and I live in MO. I couldn't see where it was my fault that she got the wrong size it was a size 8 and she said she wore a size 7-8 but couldn't sip up the back the last 3 inches. Not my fault.

Hey, Sorry to hear that you are having trouble on eBay, I have only had pleasant experiences (Minus those that take months to leave me feedback :/ ) . Did you put in the item description the exact size of the dress? If so then it is her fault for not checking the sizes and measuring herself! Hope you get it sorted soon. Lee.

Hi LeeHolt. I have brought two things on ebay and one was good but the other I had to return it didn't work and I never got but half my money back on that one. I told her what size it was and I described the dress exactly and she said she loved the dress but she was too big for it.

You see, then it's her fault for not checking if she is the right size or not, so you shouldn't have to pay for the extra delivery, she should! With the item you bought that didn't work, that was the sellers responsibility as it's not your fault that it didn't work! Lee.

That sounds like a mess to me! I am sorry that you have had that experience. I have bought things on ebay a few times and have never had any problems with it. I have never sold anything though but have the intentions (like a lot of people do) of selling some things on ebay soon. I have read over the response to your dicussion and found it helpfull about posting no refund on the shipping. As far as cloths go I would follow the one post about no refund on those items as well. It is too easy for someone to buy on impulse and then get the clothing just to find that it is really not what they wanted.

Hi ASPM and welcome to my lot. I know this dress is worth a lot more money then I had it on ebay for. Figured when she got this dress she would fall in love with it but think she was out to get something for nothing.

I've sold a few small things on eBay, but I got paid before mailing them out. I don't think I'd send anything without at least a guarantee of payment. The other posters are right; if the dress didn't fit, that's her problem, not yours. It sounds like she's playing a game with you. Don't put any money back into her account. She will most likely give you a negative rating, but you can do the same to her if you feel you should.

Hi Peavey. I thought that was how it was supposed to work too. Payment first she put it into my pay pal account and it is still pending that is the only reason I sent it out. This is a really nice dress and figured she would have kept it. I was surprised when she shipped it back. I will give her a negative rating. Don't matter if she gives me a negative rating I won't sell anything else on ebay.

Hello free, I have sold things on ebay but not clothes. I was able to sell books, magazines and cards which are 'what you see is what you get' I think you should let the customer know that you will wait for Paypal to clear the pending process and then transfer the money back into her account. This way you'll cover yourself and of any loss. See if you can see Paypal's help section to credit back or send money back to someone. That might help. Take cares!

Hi Thuhuong. Thanks I wasn't sure how to do this I will try your way. I won't send her money I just plain don't have to send. I wouldn't do this even if I had the money. I might have been born at night but it sure wasn't last night.....LOL

This is something I have never done. I really don't have anything worth selling to be honest. I have never bought anything from E-bay either that I can recall. It's just not a site that I visit .

Hi Illfavors. You would be surprised at what people will sell or put on that site to be sold. I like to go to that site when I can afford to spend some money. You find all kinds of good deals on ebay. I have a bunch of stuff I would like to sell on there but kind of weary of it now so will put them in my mother in laws yard sale shop when she gets it up and running.

I used to sell on ebay but I felt by the time I paid all the fees I didnt make anything..Half my money was gone.. I guess its good if you are selling expensive items.. As far as sending her the money back you could send it right through ebay by sending her a refund. They will reverse the payment

Hi Luvmysons. Can you tell me how to do this? I am not real savvy on ebay. Used it once or twice to buy something. This was the first time I tried to sell something on there.

My husband is always on Ebay selling things as well as buying things and to be honest we put a price on there for postage and packing and if the item do not fit we have never refunded the postage cost as they are the ones that say they are that size so i also put on the items that i sell returns are ok but postage is non refundable as that way i am never out of pocket.I do understand what you are saying about being out of pocket and yes it is not good so next time when you sell something on there make sure that you put item can be returned if not sattisfied, but postage is non refundable that way you do not lose out any money.

Hi Jugs. Thanks I thought that was odd for her to say I owed her all her money back and I even had to pay for her to just look at the dress. I thought this woman must be out of her head to request that money back too. Thanks but I think this is my last time trying to sell something on ebay. My husband got really mad when he read her note to me. Thanks for the advice.

I am addicted to ebay but only as a buyer. I havent really sold anything on it. Whenever I buy something on ebay, i always check everything so there wouldnt be any problems when I finally receive the item. If I have doubts, it is a must to ask the seller about it. Now if everything has already been described on the listing and I waas the one at fault for not reading it, then it should be my problem. i would surely be embarrassed to send it back to the seller and would never even attempt to contact the seller again. That is also why whenever I buy something off of ebay, I always clarify to myself and see to it that when it arrives and I suddenly find it useless, I would accept it no matter what and just deal with it. This way, I dont get to any troubles because I have initially promised to accept the product no matter if they arent what I expected or if they become useless to me. I always take it as a learning experience so the next time I wont be buying on impulse and skip on the descriptions. :D

Hi Calai. I have brought two items off ebay one was a monitor and it was supposed to work with my computer it didn't work and I only got about half my money back on it. The other was Microsoft works suite and it works fine. I had no problem with it. I will send something back if it has something wrong with it. But there was nothing wrong with this dress it is a beautiful dress. She just was too big for it. My husband told me that I should have told her something snide like: she really must be a size 9 instead of a size 8. But I won't do it I will keep my mouth shut and wait till pay pal releases the money but won't refund the shipping.

You could just be a jackass and not pay her back. I know it's a bit mean but really, she's putting all this pressure on you and making you go through all this trouble for a dress she really should've known beforehand if she fit. It's really all her fault and she's just too demanding.

Hi Rhazelle and welcome to my lot. I won't do that as soon as I can get her money out of my pay pal I will refund it. But think this woman is trying to pull the wool over my eyes cause she wants me to send her 45.00 through the mail. I might have been born at night but it wasn't last night. I don't have 45.00 in the bank so she is going to have to wait till they relase the payment she put into my pay pal account then I will refund all her money except shipping.I think if I was going to buy some dress over the internet and it looked as good as this one I sent out I would have been working out to be able to fit into it. It is a really nice dress. And is worth way more then 45.00. I wish I was a size 8 I wouldn't be trying to sell it if I could fit into it. But alas I am way bigger then a size 8......LOL

i always go on ebay to buy stuff, but i never sold anything. actually i just bought a purse on ebay last week. well its your obligation to send the item. why didnt you let her pay for the shipping in the first place? if they dont want it they can return it. you should have put NO REFUNDS. but anyway i think you should show her a proof that you havent got any money yet, that its still pending on your paypal. i suggest you dont send her a check or money order cause maybe shes just scamming you, since you didnt get anything yet.

Hi Sknsknskn. I have brought things from ebay and got burnt both times so I don't usually use this site. But I was given two really nice dresses and don't wear dresses that reveal anything so I wanted to sell them. Sold one and the lady that brought it sent it back too small for her. And then she wanted me to give her all the money back including the shipping. I didn't of course.
