Political corruption is the root of all Problems in all countries. Political corruption is the use of legislated powers by government officials for illegitimate private gain. Misuse of government power for other purposes, such as repression of political opponents and general police brutality, is not considered political corruption. Neither are illegal acts by private persons or corporations not directly involved with the government. An illegal act by an officeholder constitutes political corruption only if the act is directly related to their official duties Wikipedia). For me, corruption is brought by problems, may it, socially, politically, economically, physically, or spiritually,etc... What i mean, if there are problems, there is always corruption, and if there are corruption there are problems that is becoming bigger and bigger... I think, you cannot end corruption... I would like to hear your response to this discussion

No,Curruption can be ended, but for that we need bunch of people who feel for nation, who hate curruption & can stay in the system for a long.Curruption is not spread by any particular person, it is their in system, but sometime it becomes hard to stay on system if you are honest candidate,To end corruption we have to be in the system.

hi dweebs_8000_j! I think it's like a severe cancer that is hard to cure. Oh at least some type of cancer can easily be cured. I always believe that there is "hope". But corruption itself is one thing that I can't be hopeful for to be resolved. It has been in our government in ages and I think most undeveloped and 3rd world country experienced such thing. I don't think there are ways to end corruption. Maybe there is, but for sure it will just transform to another form of injustice and greed.

The basic practice in everyday living is to ask for the reason behind things. I believe that in there is politics in everything, not just what concerns the state and the economy. Using your definition of political corruption, I believe it is present even before prehistoric era, in various forms and levels. It intensified when authorities tend to abuse their power and the abused subjects do the same upon holding a powerful position. Just like in undergraduate organizations where such atrocity is also present, the abused becomes the abuser. In my opinion, until now, we are not free because it seems that the US controls this country. Even if US controls us directly or indirectly, the objective condition is that we are still dependent on US. Colonial mentality is equivalent to a virus that slowly eats us up until we are no more of use. The problem is in the psyche of countrymen. Of course, the rotten way of thinking that we have now is influenced by our Western colonizers. However, even though we have not yet completely acquired our freedom, the future of this country is in the hands of the present generation. Although we use the records of history from the past for the present, the past does not dictate the future entirely. We still have time. We still have time to change. And I don't believe this is irreversible. We must love our country and our fellowmen. Everything else follows.

Corruption is a really big problem in the societies of all countries, the problem is that, in democratic countries we, the people, are the ones who put the political officers in those positions, we are the ones who are choosing people that can be easily corrupted. So we have to be wiser when we elect our politicians. I believe that not all politicians are going to be corrupt, but again we have to pay attention to other things rather than image and lifestyle before an election. I think the fact that there may be problems involved doesn't necessarily means that corruption will be involved, but the way the problems are handle sometimes lead to those shady situations that end up costing the tax payers millions of dollars

Yes I do agree with your point "We cannot end corruption", but at least we can reduce that to some extent. For this we need to educate the upcoming generation with the bad effects of corruption, which will help us in bring up a corruption reduced society. Also I would like to add one more thing that corruption is not only from the politician side but also from the government offices like Collector office, RTO and many more. So if we cultivate the habit of anti-corruption in the youngsters this will definitely help to reduce the corruption, and in due course this can be eradicated from the society. I would like to thank dweebs for starting such a nice topic :-)

Most of the politicians are highly responsible for the corrupgion levels rising which they do for getting confrol over reign of power. Not only this but they also waste the life of youth generation trying to lure them into politics at such an early age!!

I agree with you. There would be a way to end it all but I dont think its possible. It would have to include everybody. When theres an election, nobody should show up to vote. OR they all go but cancel their votes. They would have to all write letters saying they want to change the whole government in place and in the opposition. Start fresh, find new people that arent connected to anyone in the previous government and then have an election. We're poor because they're so rich with OUR money. Yes Im fed up, but one person cant do it. So if everybody were to stand up and put their pants on, maybe they'd remember that we, the people, are paying their salaries......and they all deserve a BIG CUT in salary.

The strict law and awareness among the people can stop the corruption in politics little bit. but it is difficult to sweep the corruption completely.

I think that corruption has been around for ages and it may take more than a lifetime to completely rid society of this social cancer. But I have hope that it can be done. We must review our systems and processes and standardize them again in such a way that it leaves very little or no room at all for graft and corruption to take place. there is supposed to be check and balance in government, that has to really and geniunely happen. If no one is held accountable for their actions, more and more people will take after the lawbreakers and abuse their authority. It's a combination of placing the right people in government and a vigilant citizenry that will take us through this road.

I think there is no chance for the corruption to be eradicated. Because it is a sickness of a greedy people who are thirsty in power and money. This evil thing will last forever because people love money more than there selves.

Corruption is a problem that created by people, not only the people who has holding a great power like the politicians but also the ordinary citizens. The only difference between the politicians and ordinary citizens is the politicians corrupting greater amount of money or any thing than the ordinary peoples but still corruption is corruption whether that is big or small. We can still solve this problem by uniting the people but in this time, time of crisis, it's already hard to us to solve this problem. Thanks!!!!

corruption is a disease that can be cured slowly. I still hope there will be an end to corruption. political leaders take advantage of their position and power to steal from their fellow countrymen. The rich gets richer, while the poor remains and gets poorer. We need an honest leader who will not be blinded by power and fame. and maybe, others will follow his/her lead. There's still hope. We must choose our leaders wisely.
