I was trying to find a bell for Maggiepie today. They were in a box on a shelf in a closet in her apartment. I was trying to get it out when **BAM** I was hit in the face with something! Bashed the right side of my face by my eye and across the bridge of my nose. I can't say I saw STARS, because I never see stars, but I did have a momentary white out. I think I said a few rude words while holding my face. The right side and bridge started hurting right away - actually, for me, a pretty good sign... "What's wrong? What happened?" Maggie called worriedly from the other room. I looked around for the guilty object and found a ketchup bottle on the floor. "Oh, I dropped a bottle of ketchup on my face," I told her as I picked it up. "Are you all right?" she asked. "Oh, I might get a black eye out of it," I responded. I went back to trying to get that darn box off the shelf - at this point it ISN'T going to win mind you. "Let me see," she demanded. I went in and turned on the over head light. "Well," she said after looking it over. "There might be some scrapes over here." She gently touched the side of my face. "Let me get that box down," I said and went back to it, finally getting it down. I went thru and found a bell to her liking and put it away, then put the stuff back on the shelf - including the ketchup bottle. "If you get a black eye you'll have to tell people I hit you," she said joking. "No I'm not going to tell them that," I replied. After all, if the company even THOUGHT she might do something like that she'd lose her helper and probably any chance of having ANY helper... I get home, finally, and tell the roomie and finally get a look at myself in the mirror. I think I might get a bit of a black eye out of this actually, looks like a bit of a bruise forming already and I was feeling kindda bad when I got home, but after eating I'm feeling better. The roomie said that if I went to mom's with a black eye she would freak out. I said, no, she wouldn't freak out, but the staff might a bit! My stomach had been hurting, but was feeling better after feeding it - my head hurts and actually my neck hurts too (but that really isn't too strange with the cold front blowing in today.) I told the roomie that it reminded me of the time I was taking a nap and the "box" fell on my head. I kid you not, I dreamed a box hit my head so clearly I looked for that box several times before I admitted it had to have been a CAT falling on my head! So, you have anything land on your head lately (I hope not!)

I have had dreams of things like your box landing on your head. I hope that the catsup bruise is not too bad. I agree, you should not say anyone hit you. Of course, your stomach hurt, and your neck too. Get to feeling better soon.

thanks, actually, the stomach let up after I ate - so maybe that was just hunger... sometimes I get confused about why its hurting the roomie doesn't get hungry since the bypass surgery, so the other day she was shaky and grumpy and then after she ate she felt MUCH BETTER...

I've never had stuff like that fall on my head before, but i have had the cat jump on me at odd hours, and I've dreamt all kinds of stupid and funny things beecause of it. Same thing when I have music or news on in the background. LOL Last night I fell asleep listening to something to do with the upcoming Ukrainian election, nd I dreamt that i was a journalist in Ukraine, or something like that. LOL

I dreamed about a team of horses that started to run away and the driver was trying to stop them from the ground and I jumped into the carriage and got them stopped before she got hurt... No IDEA where that came from. I MIGHT be able to drive or stop a carriage, but I rather doubt it.

I was always taught to put soft stuff up high or stuff that doesn't weigh much like: hats-both summer straw and winter yarn ones, mittens, gloves, spices (in plastic containers or plastic bags), teas, empty boxes. The heaviest is a cook book because we don't have an eye level cook book in the kitchen, I'm putting some upstairs on the shelves my husband just built for me. But the top shelf has a basket with thread in it. So all of the above have hit my head on occasion. Maybe you might want to put the soft stuff up high.

NORMALLY the ketchup would be in the fridge, but I'm waiting to put it there until after I had OPENED it... NORMALLY I wouldn't be rooting around for this box...

Normally, I hope people start putting toilet tissue and paper towels up high as well as other soft stuff in the future.

OMG, a ketchup bottle? OUCH, that had to hurt! I can't believe you didn't break your nose with that one, and they're so heavy! I've had lighter things fall on me from a high shelf but never did I have a ketchup bottle, haha. I'm really short and sometimes I can't see what the heck I'm pulling down off a shelf, and usually there's something on top of that too, so now I use a chair so I can see better, lol!

it hit my cheek first, then the neck hit me right between the eyes! Actually didn't hurt quite as bad as Oliver stepping on my nose last night - with his back foot so he had claws kind of out, that stung for quite a while, making it hard to go to sleep... I can't step up on a chair any more, not enough strength in my legs these days - I hate this getting fat and old shi.. stuff... Where have you been?

Oh my gosh, and Oliver stepped on your nose after you got hit with the ketchup bottle? You poor thing, you have got to be hurting. You remind me of someone who is accident prone, like I am. I'm always doing something to hurt myself cause I'm in a hurry usually. Will we never learn? I've been around myLot on and off. Too many problems at home and doing a bunch of running around. Been out of work for months and just filed for food stamps, which is part of this crappy running around. I'm tired and sick of it all.

ouch - no, I need the job and Maggie needs the help, so I won't tell anyone that Maggie hit me I hear ya about the shelves that don't sit firmly, before we had the office redone, it was a garage and the previous "remodel" just slapped a carpet down over the garage floor and it was tilted toward the center and toward the front of the house (so things would drain from the garage don't ya know...)

Wow, that was quite a blow. I think I've had a couple of things fall on my head and even hits from the little ones but not as hard as you have had. They were mostly plush toys and rubber balls as well as mini-upper cuts from toddlers. I didn't do anything I swear. I was just cooing and smiling at them when out of nowhere, pow! I got hit by a small fist.

its not in her room, its in the hallway and she uses it as a pantry because her kitchen is so small reminds me of the size kitchen in the first place we lived, actually, that was a converted closet.... maybe this one is 6 square feet larger...

I can't top your story or even come close to matching it. I have had a box of quilt pieces fall on my head lately. This wouldn't have been bad, except for having to play "52 pick-up" with the quilt pieces, had the box not been one of those rigid plastic tubs. Ouch and double ouch. All I got, though, was a knot on my head (in my hair where it didn't show).

now that is especially strange as i was also looking in a closet a couple of days ago for some magazines id put up and i pulled them out off top shelf not remembering there was a couple of dolls on the back on top of them. yep, the dolls fell on my nose and eyes. luckily it only stung a little and when i looked, just a red mark.

Another accident! You certainly have had more than your share of bruises! I hope the bruise isn't too bad and glad your feeling better. My cats never jumped or fell on my head. I probably would have thought it was something else too if they ever did.

I do have lots of accidents, but grace isn't my middle name... Its funny - I opened a cabinet door the other night and the bowl I was going for jumped out and I caught it in mid-air - the ketchup bottle was probably pay back for not breaking the bowl...

All I can say is...OUCH---amazing how a bottle of ketchup can do that to a person. Well can't say I had anything fall on my head or face, but once I was reaching into the kitchen cabinet for something and a can of soup fell right on my big right toe---oh that was fun too NOT. My nail turned black right away, I walked for a limp for several months and it took several months for the old blackened nail to fall off..a new one had been growing underneath all the time..so fortunately the old nail didn't fall off right away...but yup, that hurt like heck too

I've had a few things jump out and hit my feet, but since I ALWAYS wear something on my feet, I've been lucky enough not to get more than minor bruising on them. On the other hand, I've also been known to make some impressive catches on things jumping out of cabinets, I just didn't SEE the bottle until it was... in my face - so to speak. Good news, while my face is sore, no black eye in sight!

hi elicbxn nope not a catsup bottle.wow that was heavy so you are lucky you didnt get a broken nose out to that. About a month or so ago I actually sort of fell out of bed, got my feet tangles in the too wide comforter and bang down I went but on the way down the side of my head collided with the four inch long, two inch wide drawer pull. I had a nasty bump on the side of my head for several weeks. I did not want to tell the Gold Crest nurse as I was really embarrassed at my age to fall out of bed!!!!!!Maybe your box dream was a warning .wow. good luck , dont get any more wallops to your poor head.

Yeah, I think the bottom hit the side of my face and then the neck hit my nose - at least they make them from plastic these days! I got my leg caught in a blanket and fell, landed on my shoe on my sore chest - I actually had to miss work because of that (at least I had sick leave back then!) I also had to go to the doctor... Both of the roomie's remember me walking into the room rubbing my head - that darn "box" hurt for DAYS!
