I have a poor eyesight since high school. I was prescribed to wear glasses with a high grade of 300, but I rarely used it. I felt ugly, nerdy and insecure because of the obstruction in front of my face. My self-esteem was lowered because of it. My socialization decreased. During my college days, I finally braved up to try my very first pair of contact lens. My world became crystal clear as soon as I put it! It felt uncomfortable at first, but my eyes adjusted to it. I regained my self confidence back. I'm buying contact lens ever since. But I still use my trusty old glasses when I'm at home. How about you guys? Which do you prefer to wear?

I wear glasses because I like the ease of use. I can just put them on and do what I want and then take them off. I only use them for driving, reading, computer and watching tv so the only time I have them off outside of the house is if I am driving.

I agree with the ease of use of eyeglasses, you could put them on or off depending on what you do. However, I need constant use of glasses because of my poor eyesight, so I prefer wearing my contacts for all day use. Thanks for your response :)

Well if I needed to wear my glasses all of the time then I would look into getting contacts because then it would be worth it for me to spend the extra money for contacts.

I like my eyeglasses to wear and not contacts lenses. Sometimes the different parts of the eye don't work together the way they should. When this happens, people wear glasses or contact lenses. But I compare contact lenses are more worth than glasses. Glasses are a distraction during games and sports but there is no distractions, which makes contact lenses a favorite among athletes. Glasses fog up with changes in temperature. Contacts don't fog up. Eyeglasses are annoying to wear in rain or snow. But Contact lenses won't collect precipitation and blur your vision.

I personally prefer glasses over contacts. Because I'm the type of person who gets sleepy during travel, like in a bus, jeepney or in a train. I snooze a lot. A thing you cannot do if you wear contact lens. It really depends. but when the glasses are to thick you should be wearing contacts when your at a party or in a special occasion where physical appearance is a must. It really depends though wear what is comfortable with you :)

I like the comfy and hassle-free use of glasses, and like you, I love to sleep a lot. But my eye prescription is quite high and have to wear thick glasses, and I'm kinda not comfortable with it especially when socializing. so I prefer wearing my contacts despite its strict compliance and maintenance. Thanks for sharing :)

I have really bad eyesite as well. I prefer contact lenses. when I wake up in the morning, I put my glasses on. But I don't like wearing them the whole day. I like that the contacts are fixed on my eyes and they don't go anywhere. I don't like that my glasses can get hit or wet or dirty. They seem in the way.

I totally agree! I had the same sentiments exactly. Though glasses seems more comfortable and easy to use, I still prefer contacts. I put it when I go out, then remove it when I'm at home. Nobody knew I have a bad eyesight.

I don't have glasses, but my husband has. He hates to use contact lens because he thinks it is a lot of work. You have to handle contact lens carefully and apply lotion everyday. It is a lot of work to carefully maintain the lens and use it daily. It gives you a lot of freedom when you decide to opt eye glasses compared to lens. I only have an anti-glare glass and I like it.

Yes, contact lens needs constant maintenance and putting s lot of effort in it. But for me the extra work is all worth it, I could do my activities freely without worrying about my glasses.
