what if its a joke?

You have to consider this. If you said "i love you" jokingly then his initial reaction would also to respond to you in a joking manner. Don't put a deeper meaning to what he said seriously. If he really loves you then he will pursue the topic in other ways. If he don't it means what he told you that it's a joke is probably true.

you simply tell the person your kidding too, after saying 'I love you' does not mean you actually love the person. what counts his th persons attitude towards the you when you are together. If he /she does not love you, you will see the writings on the wall.

I think I'll punch him That's a pretty horrible joke to make when someone confesses their feelings and a person decides to make a joke out of it. I've told my friend I liked him and he didn't feel the same way but he was nice about it and we're still friends. If he made fun of me for liking him, I would seriously consider giving him a black eye.

If the person says they love you and then tells you they are joking especially after you've told them of your true love feelings you need to go look for someone mature who can really love you. Don't waste your time on a "jokster" and a liar that plays games with your emotions.

The frst thing always is make sure they are saying the truth don't fall fast, but if ever someone is telling me a joke like that... I would be telling them it isn't funny because you are being serious about your feelings but he or she is just making fun of you,.. I would take back what I say because h or she is not worth it!
