should valentines day be declared as a holiday ?

valentines day has now become one of the important days in a year like the may day etc. do you think that valentines day should be declared as a holiday? i think that it can be declared as a holiday since its the day in which we can be enjoying more with our loved one although we will be enjoying wuth all through the year

Well what if you do not have someone to share it with? It doesnt bother me but valentines can be lonely if you do not have a partner so if you get time off work and are single you might feel even more lonely.

ya thats a valid point but most of them are married or tey have a girlfriend . they form the majority

I don't think so that we should declare that valentine day is holiday. There is no such reason for this. I think it is not right.....

Absolutely not! Valentine's day or Saint Valentine's day is a day promoted by the card companies just like Mother's Day or Father's Day. I sit in horror every year as the commercials for diamonds and other jewelry are splashed upon the TV screens. Buying someone something is not love, it is what you do everyday that is love.

I do not think it should be made public holiday. if it does, then there will be lots of new public holiday such as fathers day, mother's day, labor day, etc and i don't think government will make V-day as public holiday just because it is the love day. It just doesn't make sense to me *peace*
