what method do you use to find discussions to response?

When I was in mylot for the first time, I just go to "today's top" and response to whatever discussions there. Then after that, I explored a bit and realised that "hot" and "no responses" are the other good places to response. However, I realised that I've been responding to different fields of discussion and there just seems to be endless discussion in those places. I also have to skip a lot of discussions because I'm not really familiar with a lot of the topics there. So finally, I found a more systematic way of finding discussions now. What I did is that I added all my interests to my profile. Then from there, I select one interest of mine and start to response to the discussions from page 1 to page 10. In this way, I would be able to keep track of all the discussions I have made and know most of the discussions made. Then I would know what new discussions to start for that particular interest if I want. I would also feel a greater sense of achievement once I completed one interest and move onto the other. I'm also able to response to most of the discussion made because those are the topics that I'm more familiar with. In this way, I save time in posting. So what is the the method you use to find discussions to response?

Hi! I use the searching method to find interesting discussions to respond to. I mean, I don't use some special tricks or something else to search for interesting discussions, I just browse my favorite interests- "questions and answers", "mylot", "student" and "life" and when I see some attractive title of a discussion and read it and if it is good I respond to it. that;s my searching method

Hi Minotaur,it seems efficient by using your technique, for me ,the first place is "friends started" ,I will reply to my friends firstly ,that will keep us talking on different topics with the same people,we will become familiar with each other on discussing sorts of interests and I find it's easier to talk with an old friend than stranger only, and by the way all of comments started by my friends make me warm and happy here, have a nice day!

I just go to discussions with no responses, check on titles I have knowledge on and would like to share it with, then just type it. If I find the titles boring or uninteresting I then go to top discussions, then to discussions my friends started, and so on...I like to do it in random sequence though.

I go through the top discussions first, and then the my interests tab, and then the new discussions. I rarely check out the "hot" and "no responses". I respond to various fields as well, mostly what I listed in my interests.
