Every once in a while, my grandson will call me grandma. He said he just likes to call me that sometimes. But, I am still Oma.

I no longer have any grandparents, but we called them Papa and Grammy on my mom's side and Pa and Grandma on my dad's side. My children have a lot of grandparents (divorces on mine and my husband's sides). They are Meme, Grandpa, Pap-pap, Bubba, Pap, Grandma Mikey, and Theresa.

We call my maternal grandparent Mimi and Pop Pop. Our fraternal grandmother was also Mimi, but our grandfather was grandpa or grandpa J. K. Our cousins on that side (my sibs and I were the youngest) called them grandmother and grandfather mostly, but not us.

My grandparents on my mothers side were always Nanny and Poppy. On my dads side, I never new my grandfather, his mom was grandma to us. My children call my mom Grandma and on their father's side, it is Nana and Bampie. Bampie was originally suppose to be Grampy but my eldest could not pronounce it when she was younger. It came out as Bampie and it has stuck ever since.

That is different, I watched House the other night and he mention Oma, I have never heard it before and then to see it twice in a about 3 or 4 days is really neat. I guess I know for sure that I have learned something new. We are a Grandma and Grandpa family, though my son's other Grandfather preferred Papa (at least when he was alive).

Filipinos call their grandparents Lolo (granddad) and Lola (grandmom). We sometimes add their first name. For example, my grandfather's name is Manuel so I call him Lolo Manuel.

In our country we call our grandparents as lolo and lola. "Lolo" for grandpa and "Lola" for grandma. But in our house we use daddylo and mommyla which is more unique and modern.

My grandson calls me Berma. My son used to call my mother that because he couldn't say grandma, so they got my grandson to call me that and it stuck. He calls my boyfriend Poppy. He calls my daughter-in-laws mom NaNa.

I always called mine, Grandma and Grandpa. My sister just had her first grandchild and she wants her to call her nana, and her husband papa. My mom never liked that so my kids call her Grandma, and my step dad Grandpa.
