I know almost everyone living in my street - of course if not their personal names or surnames at least we know each other by face and in which house they live - of course I can say that may be because I was born in the house where I live at present and that was over 60 years ago and most of the people are like me - they have lived there, rather most of the people have been living here last 2 generations at least and in many cases the original occupants are no more there but their descendants are there whom we have been seeing for a very long time. how is it with you?

Hi! I am still new in the neighborhood and that's why I don't know everyone living on my street, but I live in an apartment and I already know many of the neighbors here. In my home town, where I have lived 4 months ago, I have knew and I still know all the people on my street, because I lived there 7 years!

t takes time to get to know people; in my lifetime I changed places /cities several times as my work kept me transferred from one city to another every 3-4 years and I felt the same but over a period of time I got to know the neighbours and just when I was feeling that I knew a lot of people in that area I had to leave- finally I am back where I started and there is no chance of me moving out of here.

I know a couple of families whom i have known since i was a child but most of the first families here are now either abroad or have moved into other cities or towns here. Another factor is that, there have been many apartments, boarding houses and old houses for rent here on our street. So, mostly these people or neighbors are transients here and are working at nearby business establishments or students and i am working too, so we don't get a chance to really see each other often or get to know each other.

Same here- in the sense that most of the younger generation seems to have left for relocation and better prospects overseas- so we only see or meet them whenever they come here on their vacations- originally they came almost every year, which with passing years became less frequent and shorter!! and then every time you meet them their families have grown up and they seem different

for 28 years I've been living in the same place but I'm sure a lot of my neighbors don't know me and i don't know them either. lols. I am a home-buddy and i seldom go out and loiter in the street in our place. when I was still studying, my usual routine was home-school-home and now that I am already working its home-office-home. and when i go shopping or strolling, its usually in the downtown or on the malls. I think only people who are close to our family or who are friends of my parents really new me in our place.

You need not know them personally though - even if you happen to know them by face or they even acknowledge or greet you should be good enough, you may not know it but I am sure a lot of people know you and you do not know that fact as yet!!

Hello Udayrao, Well Ive lived here for the past 13 yrs and I know the people living to my right but thats about it. Even though I live in the country and there arent that many people on my street, I wouldnt know who they are. I mostly keep to myself and I have a large property, so Im always in the backyard and dont see anyone from there. I got to meet my neighbors to the right only because we had a huge storm a couple years ago and the power was out, so when I took my dog out, they were out and they told me about a tree that fell on the street. Thats how I met them. My husband knows everybody on our street by name and he also knows their dogs'names hehe!!

Our family has been living in our area for more 3 decades already yet we still do not know all the people living in our street. Our family is living in a compound so that means we are somewhat isolated to them by a large wall. I still wanted to get contact with them since they are our neighbors and i know its not yet too late to do so.

Hi, udayrao2. I don't know the names of everyone that lives out here where I am living at now. I only know a few names and that is all. I am quite new to this area. When I used to live with my grandmother, I knew most of the peoples names that lived around the area that we stayed at.

Well I have lived on the same street and know many of the other long term neighbours by name. Those which are newer I may not know by name but recognize and always pass pleasantries in passing when out and about. There use to be a time where I would no most people on the street but more and more people prefer to keep themselves to themselves, which there isn't much wrong with that.

Unfortunately, I do not know everyone living in our street. I only know a few living a few blocks away from us. I rarely go out and meet each and every one of them.

I know everyone about maybe about five or six houses down on either side. Other than that, I could not pick them out of a police line up. I rarely see any of those people to begin with. The only people that I do know around my neighborhood really well is my neighbors on either side. Other than that, my interactions with the rest of the neighborhood is pretty nonexistent. That's just the way things have been.

I definitely don't know everyone here. We've just moved in last year and we had just adjusted to our new neighborhood. I know some by face but of course not everyone. Sometimes I shrink every time I go out because I feel like an alien in a community where everybody seems to know one another. And I also don't have any friends here.

I know them by face also and by their last names but not everyone in one particular house. Like, I know maybe just one or two from a certain house cause they are friends with my parents and sometimes when I pass by them, we exchange smiles but I don't have a friend from our neighbors.

takes some time to convert those smiling ones to friends- that will happen one day when the conversation starts between you both
