this is concerning my sister, who has a 4 month old baby. during her pregnancy, she had such lovely hair which used to shine with good health. but her problems started sometime during the third month after the baby was born. she is now loosing hair at an alarming rate and is obviously very much worried and stressed out over it, which again causes more hair to fall, i suppose. my mom and other friends and relatives insist that this is a common problem after delivery and that the hair will start to grow again. but just seeing the amount of hair fall is enough to get anyone tensed! does anyone out there have any suggestions/tips regarding this problem? if so, please do share so that i can pass it on to my sis as soon as possible.

This remedy should work-In a bowl take the require quantity of coconut oil and add few drops of lime juice.Warm a little.Massage gently over the scalp followed by turban therapy(Process of dipping towel in warm water and wrapping around hair.Keep this for ten minutes .Wash using a mild shampoo. Ask your sister to avoid stress and worry. She should include lots of protein and vitamins in her diet. She can choose a shampoo from Garnier Fructics range. The results are satisfying.

this really is completely normal. you hear this story every time. that peoples hair looks so healthy during pregnancy, and falls out after the baby is born. and the reason is simple. during pregnancy hair is not shed as it normally is. so the same amount of hair is being grown, but none is being lost as it would normally. this makes the hair much thicker. after the pregnancy finishes, the hair goes back to normal, and ALL of the hair that would have normally been shed over that nine month period starts to fall out. it can seem alarming, but it's perfectly natural. just the hair going back to normal. I work for a company that sells skincare and haircare. this came up during the haircare training. so although it probably seems very alarming right now, she's normal, and this is just a normal part of having a baby

hi pree70 Yes this is the common problem for a woman after giving birth. I had my hair fall also after I gave birth to my son..Yes it will start to grow again after 8 months but not as healthy as before, I had posted a discussion about hair problem before, and some says horse shampoo will help a lot., I never try it yet, cos I can't find one here in my area.

I too during my pregnancy had amazing hair, it was full and healthy and grew very fast, and too experienced hair loss after my pregnancy. From what i have heard this is a very common thing to happen, and sometimes it is opposite. Some women have very thin fine hair when pregnant and then it grws full afterwards. I wouldnt be too concerned over it, and yes stressing out about it will only make it worse. Stress has been linked to hair loss. Also as a new mother, things are probably already very hectic for her, so i expect it is probably nothing to worry about. Soon enough her hair will be back to normal. It may not go abck to how it was during the pregnancy, but the hair loss will slow down, and her hair will start to fill out again. Stay positive, and good luck.

you are right about the hectic part. taking care of a baby is by no means relaxing, especially when it happens to be a first born. thank you for the input.

As you said i'm saying too hair fall is common for womans after the pregnancy and after delivery too. And my suggestion is to make your sister feel relaxed regarding because after the delivery the person becomes so weak , eventually causes many of body parts weak causing tension and which results in heavy hair fall. First say your sister to do meditation for about 30-40 minutes a day and say him maintain a balanced and nutritious diet. Including drinking as much as water possible ok. convey my regards to your sister, Every thing will be alright.

As has been stated before, strong hormonal changes can make the hair to fall. The first thing your sister should do is go to a skin doctor, as he/she can give your sister some good advice about how to control the hair loss, and do some exams. If it's an hormonal problem in the end, many people start taking the pill, as it regulates the hormones and in many cases stops the hair loss. There are some medicines too to prevent the hair loss that work, but shouldn't be used if a doctor hasn't prescribed them, because of the possible side effects. What I recommend is to never visit a hair clinic. They're just sweet talkers that make you pay a huge ammount of money for an useless treatment.
