i had it fitted today, omg the pain, the gp said it would hurt a little more than usual because i haven't had a period for over 7 years, which has caused something in me to shrink slightly,HURT i thought he was ripping my insides out with a knife and fork,,my mum rang to see how i was,i said to her why didn't she warn me it was so painful, she said she didn't want to worry me,,i'd rather have known what to expect,i thought it would be like having a smear test,i was soooo wrong,it's been 14 1/2 hours since i had it done, and i'm still in pain,,

I have never had one fitted so i would not know what the pain is like.Have you tried a warm water bottle as that used to relieve some of the pain/discomfort that i got after having a hysterectomy along with a lot of pills aswell.I also found that putting a pillow between my knees also helped with the stinging/aching as well from down there as well.Just an idea as anything is worth a try.

You can call the dr and tell him you are in too much pain and see what he tells you to do. I don't think you should be in this much pain. Go ahead and call. let us all know what you found out,ok?

he did say that i'd be in pain for a couple of days,i'm not worried, but i will say i have the most evil wind, don't know if it's coz they've been playing with my insides,or if it's just coincidence

By wind do you mean flatulence?? then don't worry unless it gets much worse. More than likely the intrusion on your insides pushed and poked some air out. Do have anything like gas x or alka seltzer to help ?? I do hope you get to feeling better. quita

That was the reason DOc took me off the pill but I had peroids all along. After the coil thing I ended up getting a historectomy for my cervics was falling no more problems not even change of life!

doormouse why on earth are you going through this painful coil process if you have not had a period in 7 years? I mean I thought the coil was a birth control method but if you are not have periods why would you need a coil? I guess I missed your first discussion which must have explained the reason for it.I would see my gp if the pain doesnt get better or go clear away.

i really detest periods so i took the pill constantly for 7 years,so i wouldn't have one,but now my doctor says because i'm 32 and smoke it's not safe for me to take the pill anymore, that's why i have a coil, apparently there's a high chance it will stop my periods, but we'll see
