I have two dogs -- Shetland Sheepdogs. I named my boy, Sundance. His full AKC name is Cinderglo Sundance Prince of the Desert Canyon. The second Sheltie I got from a breeder; she was 8 when I got her, so I didn't get to name her. Her name is Emily (Chisterling Emily of Wildoak). Neither name is that great for a bird. Maybe Emily...

The most unusual names my pets have had were Divot and Baffy. I got them from a couple where the husband was a golf pro. Hence Divot; Baffy was named for the baff, an obsolete golf club shaped like a slotted spoon that was used to get the ball out of the carriage ruts. Now I have 2 calicoes: Paisley and Josie who was named for Joseph and his coat of many colors. Eli, a large polydactyl white boy who was named for the quarterback of the NY Giants. And Peaches, a beige tabby, who came from Georgia already bearing her name. We've also had Patches, Claire, Arthur and many others. Good luck with naming.

I'm no good with pet names. It's never really been my strong suit when it comes to pet ownership. I could look at a cat or dog for hours, and not be able to come up with a name that suits them. I always got the feeling that they were disappointed in me for not thinking of anything. It's like they looked down on me or something. Cats always think less of people, but still still

I have a beautiful 15 year old cat called sooty. I had a budgie called sally. I think there are no rules when it comes to naming your pet.

My pet cat is named FloJo after the Olympic sprinter (who, sadly is no longer with us)...er, the sprinter I mean, not the cat.

I have Toby the cat and Tila who is a guinea pig. I have never had a bird but if you observe it for awhile you may get inspired.
