hi guys.. i ve seen school students struggling a lot with all homework, test, and other stuff to be completed in a single day.. i don't think many schools give importance to extra curricular activities.. as students i think they need to be given some work which will explore their latent talents.. i also think this educational system is to be changed especially in india.. do you have any suggestions to add?? your comments are welcome..

I don't know if you refer this question international or to all countries. Because you can't state any country that you are referring too... Please tell me what specific country you wish to change?

Yes I too think so! Students are being burdened a lot with homeworks, tests , assignments and exams! All sorts of crap! Oh My God! I do not know how I am going to manage it ! A student has to cope up with peer pressure and overcome all kinds of pressures! I think the education system has to be eased and also, it has to be made practical oriented! The choice of stream has to be given in the eighth standard and not XI.

i will not go for a change in the educational system unless there are some valid reasons for the change. given the present state of the system, it is not so bad actually. it all boils down to the student. it is him that needs to change and not the educational system. is that hard to imagine?

Just imagine a child burdened with loads of home work and all other stuff in a single day.. The school is such a way that its concerned only about the rank the overall pass percentage and not any other thing.. it really doesn't care about the welfare of the student.. most of the schools in India.. The person will change only if the environment around him changes... don't you think so??

Yup, the educational system should be changed for good. The present education system isnt doing any good to the society or the students. The students are given heavy workload. These pupils try doing everything and a stage comes when they stop doing it.After that they come into a mind set that there is no use doing any of these works. Thats when the system really harms our future. They are over doing the things. MOreover, The present education system gives more credit to the mugged stuff rather than the real knowledge of the student. Therefore i strongly suggest that the system must change.

Well to me the education system needs a tremendous change. Currently children are not being educated but being pressurised. Students are given lots of questions and answers to learn, and they just mug them up without understanding. This is especially the case in India. There is no attention on co-curricular activities that explore a students, instead all the emphasis is given to academics. In my view this system should be changed sooner or later and some practical education must be imparted to the students so they can achieve success in the real world.

Guys, Educational system in India "MUST BE REVAMPED". Giving homework, assignments, record... all these are just the waste of time. They all go with the theoretical knowledge. Instead, remove all these stuff and give them questions on live problems related to those theory. It does mean that the students have to work on the field for practical knowledge but they should "THINK" enough to solve those live problems with fun. Just by cramming the things, students are lame now:( It has to be changed as... Realize the problem to the core with fun:)

Yes, it should be. I should cope up with the fast changing environment we live in. Personally I think the education should given more weight to the effects of global problems like Global warming and environmental destructions. The curriculum should include more extra curriculum like tree plantings and garbage collections and tackles more on how to save mother nature. If it doesn't then we ended up filling more garbage and destruction to it.

yes i think the educational system needs to be changed at least in india...here students are pressured more and to such an extent thta many of them commit sucides....comitting sucide for failing in the ninth grade is just not done and really sad thing .....there are a lot of things that are need to be changed but first the grading system should be removed "this one is first that one is second " this thing should be removed . this is the only thing that is pressurising the children .....once the grading system is removed there is a hope that the system can work better with new plans

Education is not only about academics. The educational system must be geared towards the development of the students' whole personality. There should, therefore be a healthy balance of academics and extra-curricular activities. Homework is important as a form of discipline, give the student something to do after school and at the same time, enable him to learn new things through his own effort. A test is a measure of what he has learned so far, although sometimes, it is not a reliable measure, because we have to admit, though we don't like it, a student is sometimes tempted to cheat. The test is not only for the student. The test results helps the teacher to determine how she can make her teaching more effective - how she can present the lesson more effectively, what areas need to be emphasized, what method is going to work best, etc. It is important to explore latent talents in all aspects. This would enable a student to decide what to focus on or what course he would take in college. By knowing what he is good at and what he is weak on, he can spend more time to strenghthen his weak points. The educational system can be modified in such a way that each student gets the full benefit of it. Have a good one, thunderbala.

ya in india i think the educational system has to be changed a lot . they think that the students should study all the time. they are understanding that students have to enjoy things too . thats the time they can enjoy in their life . we cant find a students talent . they ARE not given the option to study what they like in their schools . it has to change a lot . here most of thre teachers are not friendly they always treating students badly . .this has to change

I have seen just the opposite, kids with no homework day after day. Our educational system in the US needs a complete overhaul from the top down. I firmly believe that if a student fails, the teacher and parents have failed. Now days when the school calls a parent, the child laughs because it's going to be no big deal and parents side with poor picked on Johnny. Back in my day a school calling home was our worst nightmare! As for extra curricular activities, let's find a way to teach the academics and social skills i.e. sports, girl scouts, boy scouts.

Yeah it should. Here it sucks to finish hy school cause you cant get a scolarship (here its called the students basket) at all. The whole systen is corupt and one who gets only good grades dosent get the basket, but the other, who has enaugh contacts gets it with low grades... I think ill go to study in London.
