Have you ever had to write a paper or do a big project for class, and just put it off and out it off until the ast minute because you didn't want to do it? I know plenty of people who have done it, and end up rushing through it at the very last minute- the night before or something- but I have never done it myself...until now. Throughout elementary, middle and high school I was always sure to get my assignments done right when they were assigned so I wouldn't have to worry about them. I'm in my second semester of college now, and I have a paper to write for Sociology that's due on monday. I've hardly even started on it, because I really don't want to do it! ///

I battle procrastination all the time. I have to force my self to do things. I am trying to over come this. This is something I have had happen to me as I got older and became disable. I think it has something to do with depression. I am working on it and try to get what I need done, and take time for my self. If I do not I get to where I am not able to do things. Happy posting.

I feel as if this discussion is directed at me! Lol! I am so guilty of this. As a student I always put off work upto the very last minute. under pressure, I could do a very good job still. I do some prep stuff when it's assigned, but I finish up and do the actual writing the day before it's due. I don't know why! But at work, I try to do stuff when they're assigned, it's difficult to miss deadlines for work, and the quality is too important to leave to luck./

I am actually a PRO when it comes to procrastination. i am fully aware of the bad effects and yet I always get caught in such situations when I would postpone stuff all the more the easy ones. I have been hating myself because of that for a long, long time now but I really can't seem to find any cure. It's really hard to find the motivation to do something no matter how petty or how huge that thing is. Honestly, in everything I do, the hardest thing is always "starting" it. :(

Yes, in high school I used to save all the schoolwork for the last day, but I'm in college now, and I really have to work hard, so I'm more commited to schoolwork, and it's very rewarding. I think that if you work on something everyday, you end up working less on it each day, and things get done easily.

I don't do it often but it does happen. I have some articles to write that I should have finished by now but the client wants ten different articles on the same subject, just worded differently. Two or three, sure, I can do that but ten?! How often can you say the same thing in a different way?! I should have had them done by now but I guess I'll really push it tomorrow and finish them. Hopefully you'll get your paper done today! Work hard and make it good!

Absolutely. When I was back in high school, I used to do this ALL THE TIME I was surprised that I actually managed to get the grades that I did because I always used to put off work and get distracted by other stuff that I ACTUALLY enjoyed doing

I was this way all through school. To me doing something at the last minute was like a rush for me. You either finished what you had to do or you didn't. So by having the pressure to get it done, I would do better on it. See, I put way too much thought into my papers or project when I start them too early, and I would get a bad grade because I would normally get side tract and add information that I really didn't need. So, if I waited till the last minute to do it I was focused on what needed to get done and quick. I would get a better grade doing it that way. Some people can do it this way while others can't deal with the stress that it puts on you. Make sure you are taking classes that you like and want to be in. If you have no interest on the topic it will always be hard to start or finish projects. If something doesn't interest you fully ask your teacher if you can add more to the project or a topic to your paper. That way you do what the teacher asks but you also get something you are really interested in too. This may make things a little easier on you. Best of luck at college!

that what i used for when i was in high school. i were very lazy doing homeworks and assignements and almost i did it in the last minute and by copying from my friends. the reason was not that i were not good at study or beacuse i were stupid, no, because i were sick of study and i were just lazy.

I always do this. Every project and assignment I had since elementary and high school I always do the last minute because I really don't want to do it. Now I am trying to change that because it is really hard if you always do it the last minute and there so much projects and assignments that needs to be done.
