do you take your own pillows with you when you travel?

i am a horrible sleeper and unfortunately cannot sleep just anywhere. But we do go away once in awhile and i tend to take comforts of home with me when we go away such as pillows and i have even been known to take a favourite blanket with me too! what do you take (if anything) to help you sleep at night in a strange bed?

Don't laugh but I always take my bear with me whenever I go anywhere, weird probably for a thirty year old something guy to take a bear with him but Ricky goes everywhere with me, abroad, friends I just like him there with me as a comfort, he likes stranges beds more than me. He's what you call a well travelled stuffed animal. For me it's the reverse when it comes to pillows I always find other people's pillow far more comfortable than my own, never been able to work that one out.

I think that's really nice about your bear. And that pillow thing is a bit odd but I'm kind of the same way; but for me it's more like I prefer various pillows - sometimes a firmer one, other times softer, etc.

I have a contour pillow that I sometimes take with me, but mostly I just use whatever pillow is available wherever I go.

If we are camping I do. Otherwise, I try to pack as lightly as possible. If we are staying in a hotel, I dont take toiletries either.

I don't carry my pillows along with me. I don't mind using the pillows given in a train or bus on over night journeys. I know a person, who is my mom's sister, who likes to carry her pillows when she travels. She is old and she finds it comfortable to have her pillows. My husband is very particular about having good pillows, but he doesn't carry them while he travels.

For me, i don't really care what pillow i use when i am about to sleep. So i never bring my pillow when i travel. Even if there is no pillow, i still can sleep. I can even sleep while i am sitting. Also i rarely use blanket to sleep since it is hot where i live.

Well if it's a road trip, I will a lot of times take a pillow and blanket mostly for use in the car but also it is nice to have your own germ-free pillow everywhere you go! But I don't do it all the time. I guess some times it bothers me and sometimes it doesn't. On plane trips I take a small blanket, but not a pillow b/c that would be a hassle.

My secret is even deeper and darker that your's cher913! I take along...a little, two cup coffee perk/sugar & freshly ground Coffee! I sleep O.K. with a new Pillow, but I am useless at getting up...and not having a cuppa fresh perked coffee, before I do anything else. Now, that's an addiction...it is compact, cute with a permanent filter...and gets me started each day, on the right foot! I hate even having to wait for Room Service..OR that horrible Pod Coffee, they have! Have a great weekend...and Cheers! P.S. Thanks for the info on the pic...have been to Ontario, twice..but just overniters on a connecting flight to elsewhere...Niagara Falls, another place on my "bucket list"! I am on the West Coast (14 miles from Vancouver..where the OWE-lympics are being held.)

I bring a neck roll or I will need a Dr. if I don't. Esp. after my last accident. My neck must stay in the correct position at night or I will be a mess in the morning, stiff neck I could put in one corner of my pain/problem.

My cousin had to bring a spare pillow with her because she was allergic to other people's pillows.

It usually depends on how much room we have left in the car. I do like to take my own pillow if I can though. Usually the pillows in the hotel rooms are way to small for me to get comfortable with.

Hi there, Sleep is too dear to me. I love to sleep after my lunch and contrary to people saying that day sleep makes you feel sick does not happen with me. I feel fresh when I get up after an hour or two sleep and start my evening. As for pillow I do not carry my home pillow if I am to travel. I rather prefer to carry my air pillow and I do not feel any odd with this.
